questions for you 0-60 xperts

Skimming thru our favorite magazine: Kar&Drybers and reading the TL-S review:

Why is 0-60 = 6.2sec and a rolling 5-60 = 6.5sec?? Shouldn't a rolling start be faster?? OR What's a street start??

Last, what did K&D do to drive the TL-S .5sec faster the a CL-S?? Did acura send them a ringer??

5-60 is slower since there's no launch. With an auto they open the throttle with one foot on the brakes then release the brakes for the best launch. Bad for the torque converter, but best 0-60 times.

Street start is the same as rolling start. The reason why a standing start is quicker than a rolling start is very similar to what mdaniel said. With a standing start, you're able to rev the engine to the desired RPM where torque is adequate "off the gate". A rolling start, is slower due to the inability of being able to rev to the desired range prior to taking off.

Also most magazines will test this with the traction control on. The traction control on the cl-s operates both the brakes and its own throttle body therefore limiting throttle also. When my car was stock I was puling 6.0 -6.1 on hte g-tech.

Who told you that? Everything I've ever heard or read about magazine performance testing says that they ALWAYS turn the traction control OFF.
