Questions on CL-S mods from an AV6 owner
I plan to swap a CL-S engine, tranny, and ECU into my Accord at some point in the future.
Apart from any suspension upgrades, I/H/E, and supercharger, what other mods are out there perfomance wise for the CL-S?
Does unorthodox Racing make Pullies for the CL? or are the same ones from the AV6 used?
Who has the most souped up CL-S on this board and what's he or she got in it?

if you're going to go all out, do the 3.5L upgrade. The member by the name TypeR has it done to his CL-S. From what I understand he used a MDX block (or something like that) to do it.
Pullies are available...and I believe unorthodox makes a set. I know of a few ppl on the board that has the full pulley install...although I can't remember the exact brand.
Good luck with your engine swap. Sounds like it's going to be a project and a half.

yeah...check out this links that peiqinglong posted.
Basically, the CL-S has a 3.2L engine. You can do a swap to enlarge the engine to a 3.5L thereby generating more horsies. Does that make sense?

By the way, sweet ride...
what kind of light bulbs do you have in your fog/driving light housing? Are they yellow? Do they look anything like the Lexus fogs?

that swap (j32a2 6mt) will make your car haul ass, especially if you s/c it. a 100 shot of n2o would work too
i didn't know the cl-s was over 400 pounds heavier than the accord coupe, damn :o
the pulley set is the same except for the alt. pulley.

Wow. Very impressive sounding! So let me see if I got this all straight... The mod is taking the 3.5 liter block from a j35A4 (Honda Oddysey minivan) having it modified by some company owned by Doug Foss (syncivic), and then putting it in a CL-S?
What is RES and MMII?
The Type S Manual trannys are having failure problems as well?!?!

Revving at 9K...
Jason,
you have one of the best looking AV6C I've seen!! Good luck with your quest on the CLS converstion.
Is the air dams on your hood functional? Or is it covered?
BTW, I read through your comments on the links, I don't think you need a spoiler at all.. It'll look so clean without it!! Or if you do want one, have you considered the TypeR style spoiler? They look pretty nice and clean on the AV6C.

Maybe if the inside chrome areas were painted body color, they might look better and people wouldn't hate on them as much(?)

Well the Accord has a crap auto tranny that'll probably die eventually anyway. Swapping in a manual 6 speed is a good idea to avoid problems and make the car more mod friendly.
Accord ECU has problems knowing when to engage VTEC with a 6 speed manual and there are no mods available for the ECU to counter this.
If you're gonna switch the ECU and the tranny, you might as well do the engine too and gain the 60+ hp.
I figure with a CL-S powered Accord, I'd have the fastest Accord on the planet (except for the unproduced Accord Coupe type R which has 300hp stock.)

Start by saying that is the fooking nicest honda/acura I've seen. Doesn't look rice or bling, just plain aggresive. anyway...
I have to echo bkknight369's question, is this going to be worth the $$$ for the swap? Seems by the time you get a new engine/tranny and do the first (and probably only) xover ever, you could be looking at a upgrade or two. If you're just into the unique thing, g/l... will be awesome to see (get some sponsorship!!!)
You might be waiting around for the chip upgrade.
Are you going to do the xover yourself or paying for it?
-- Nihil
PS. PLEASE don't put those spoilers on it. If you must, least check out a //M3 or 5 lip. Car is just too sweet to put a wing on.

Sponsorship in these parts?
I'd have better luck getting struck by lightening I think.
I don't even know how to try and get sponsorship other than hope I get approached at a car show. I can't even enter a car show right now because I need to fix some scratches on my rims and don't have the money. A friend of mine was in a big show here a couple weeks ago. Now he's gonna be on the cover of some magazines. :-/ lucky him.

I have an 2001 AV6 Sdn. It's Firepepper Red Pearl. I wondered if I wanted to ditch my J30A1 + auto to either the new Accord's J30A4 motor + 5spd auto or 6spd manny or J32A2 + 5spd auto or 6spd manny to our Accords, wouldn't we need wiring harnesses for the entire dash area??? or would it be possible to convert it safely and properly to make the J30A1's harness work with the J30A4/J32A2 motor's ECU?
Putting in a J35A(whatever) would make the car NOSE heavy, RIGHT?

The wiring question would be better directed at a mechanic.
The nose weight question... I don't know the difference in weight of the engines but I doubt it'd be anything more than a couple of pounds (?)

Show a rear-photochopp where it looks like a 747
Obviously it's your car, so whatever suits you. Still a damn sweet ride whichever way.
I want to see a post from Scalbert and other mechanics on this conversion...
