Question for those with thermoblok spacers installed

Did you notice a humming sound after the install? I thought I remembered reading it somewhere but I couldn't find the post.

It's not a big deal just wondering if you hear it too. It's a very light humm, I just turn up the radio.

Oh and BTW, I installed mine this weekend.

Hardest parts:

1 - scraping the old TB gasket off the intake manifold (not hard, just time consuming)
2 - Finding the nut I dropped down in the engine bay.

I had to cut a small section of my AEM CAI to get it to fit. It was a little too long on the TB end. Obviously the new spacer pushed the TB out about a 1/2". I also cut a little bit of the tubing that went from the CAI to the cylinder head cover.

Haven't really tested it out yet, although I drove about 45 minutes on the highway this morning and when I checked the intake manifold it was luke warm.

There is a slight drone after you install the spacers. Its simply due to the fact that the spacer has sharp edges and creates a straw like effect.

I'm going to have to watch that myself. At least it didn't go down the intake!

Thought about that but decided to see how it goes for a while. It's really not that noticeable (I just notice every sound my car makes).

That would work but its probably more work than its worth. Its not very loud and you can only hear it at idle. Its a noise thats different than what you normally hear so initially it will stand out a bit more, but you get used to it.

Neil get yourself a long pen magnet and save yourself alot of headache...

and also if you have a dremel rotary tool you can easily remove the TB gasket... they also make gasket scrapers that will save you alot of time.

so how long did it take YOU from start to finish?

Yeah I bought one of those flexible arms with the claw that retracts from the end.

And I have a gasket scraper. Just saying that that was the most time consuming thing (and it didn't take that long) I thought about using my Dremel but it's such a mess (didn't anything getting into the intake manifold (and yes I stuffed it full of newspaper).

I did it over two days (Brady wouldn't dare give me an entire day to myself)

Took me about 2 hours start to finish. I've taken my intake manifold and TB apart many times.

They've had the one out for the J32A1 for a while. Just came out with the A2 a little while ago.

Hondata has had the spacers for the H and K series motors for quite some time now. They didnt bother with the Js simply because they said it wasnt worth it or something to that extent.
