Question on airbags

I have been doing some front end work. Had to remove the bumper & was driling into the metal support beams. I did not know if the airbags would have a problem with that so I took the battery out & left it out for 1 day first.

So would messing with this area cause the airbags to deloy if the battery wasn't disconnected? In my case there was a good amount of vibration & hammering.

I started to work on it, then I remembered about the airbags. I was scared to mess with it even though the battery was disconnected.

Not too sure if it will make the airbags deploy, but I know they won't if the battery is disconnected. That's why they always recommend you to take out the battery before you do work to your car.

BTW, what are you doing to the front end if you don't mind me asking?

The airbags won't go off if the battery is disconected.

on second gen cl impact sensor for front collisions is located directly in srs module, which is in center console below radio and data connector.u may do anything to your front end without worrying about srs, batt disconnection is not necessary
