Putting my car for sale this week

gonne flop out of the A4 3.0 Cabrio,...reasons:

-no patience
-awd and cabrio is gonna make it a 7.7 seconds 0-60 car..even after mad dollars in mods, it wont be as fast as my CL
-this honda is losing value fast
-my tranny was pissing me off last night, a stock GSR beat me cause my tranny slipped in 1st
-shoulda bought german quality in the first place, i've learnt my lesson

Instead getting a
2003 A4 3.0 6-speed dolphin grey
gonna order this shit right away
OETTINGER Kit with Rims and Brembo Brakes..thats all i can afford to do right now with mods...

but by christmas, if the SC is out, i'l get it no doubt..

should put the A4 below 6 seconds with the SC in 0-60...low to mid 14's...these are just estimates though, let me know if they sound right..

stock A4 3.0 does 6.8 seconds...6-speed

heres some pics that inspired me as well

CL-S is gonna be for sale...im going to try to sell it privately for a couple weeks, with all mods..if i dont get anything, i'l part it out with u guys..and trade in.

convertibles are useless

sure they look cool in pictures but NO ONE uses it w/ the top down for more than twice a year. I live in San Diego and no one takes their top down. only for show and only twice a year.

If you have the means then definitely do it. It is a different class of vehicle and if it is what you desire then go for it. My brother drove his old convertible with the top down nearly 100% of the time, but that is here in the south.

My wife will probably be getting a two seater convertible here soon and I will be driving that often with no complaints.

BTW, the KM to Miles conversion is a multiplier of 0.62 so that would give to 50k Miles on the CL.

Good luck with the maintainence issues that will undoubtly arise at one point or another. You are buying into a slow and heavy car. Seems you are looking for the show piece so i think you are headed in the right direction.

I assume the S/C doesn't come with a factory warranty correct?

Looks nice I was looking at the a4 before i bought my 6speed but couldn't justify purchasing a car that was heavier and slower....even with AWD. Good luck.........

good luck with the a4. after i saw the pic of the red a4 on a couple audi boards i've been thinkin i should have got that instead of the CL. but i know im not gonna be changing cars anytime soon i jus have to keep on dreamin. and be sure u have lots of money to mod cause mods on the a4 i've noticed are sooooo much more expensive than mods for the cl.

Cool, but if your going to dump that kind of coin into an A4......I would just wait to get an S4. Not to mention, you'll be able to get Nogaro blue in the S4 (hooootttt).

I have been thinking about getting rid of the CL for a A4 also.. The value of the CL is really starting to piss me off (falling like a fat rock).. Plus the new Accord coupe is comming out.. I have about 2 months to think about it, i think i'm gonna do the 1.8 quattro, drop in a chip, some pwr pulleys, some type of cold air intake and a cat back system. That should get going

Nice choice in ryde! But don't give of the BS line of the tranny problem...the real reason is that you couldn't pick up any biatches in the CL! Don't blame the car! Post mass pics when you get your Vdub or I mean Audi.

slow and heavy? its not that bad, if it does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds..and the chip + lighter rims should put me beside a CL-S

chip adds 13 hp to the stock 220, and the stock rims weigh 27 pounds..so that gives me some advantages in performance till i get the SC...

as for warranty on the engine...i'l have to see what i can do, i wont get the SC this year, so untill next year, i'l see if i run into engine problems, and see if i can financially afford any problems that may arise, and take it from there..

And with light rims and S03's i think this car might outhandle a cls since its AWD..correct?

So im not going to be exactly missing out on anything the CL has...i'l just be gaining a german car that screams quality inside and out, 6-speed, AWD for our winters, rear heated seats, and the cool looks euro cars have at night inside with the lights.

Looks wise, I think with the kit and rims, it looks better than a CL too..

I still love the CL, was hoping to keep it, and give it to my little bro..but i think i'l buy him a cheaper car since its gonna be his first car, maybe a slightly used 1.8t or some shit..

the A4 with the options i want is 49k canadian...
the mods are:

kit 4k canadian
rims+tires 5k Canadian
chip 500 bucks canadian
lowering 1500 canadian
future SC when i have the dough, 10k canadian installed.

without the SC that puts me at 59, 500 canadian..with SC that puts me at 69, 500 canadian.

The new M3 costs about 85k canadian with the options I would want...so i guess the new S4 would be about 83k with the options i would want.

S4 83k A4+mods 69k..plus i can only imagine the insurance on a S4, plus i would not be able to mod the S4 in ANY way, no exterior, no rims, no tires..i would be broke...no even freakin tint

i love the new a4 drop top its soo nice, may get it if its a great ride. i actually loved the older a4 and almost got it, but the dealer i went to had no 3.0 and only had 1.8. and coming from a maxxima, i ddint want to go down in hp, wanted to go up. i really love drop tops and im in florida so it would be a everyday thing for me to have it down. and there arent to many cheap droptopps, just the eclpse, or sebring, everything else is in the 40s like the volvo or bimmer. how much the a4 drop goin to be, amyone know.

amir, how much was the msrp of the a4 3.0 cabrio? what's the msrp of the 1.8t cabrio?

Cool ride man! I love that color! Enjoy. Are u ordering the A4 or is it already at the lot? If u are ordering, how long will u have to wait? What will u drive if u sell the CL too quickly?

3.0 cabrio with FWD is 42u.s. with NO OPTIONS..with the options i want, easily 46u.s.

imho thats too much for a slow fwd car...if only it had speed

i have 500 dollars credit with audi, cause i was on a waiting list for the cabrio, on monday, i'l go order my A4, i spoke to my guy there today, and he told me i would have my car by late december.

I'l sell my CL-S now, and drive my dads cargo van for a couple months..or i'l get audi to give me a car till my car gets here, they did that with my mom for 3 weeks.

umm i really hope you are kidding about the jetta on roids.. what is the CLS from, the accord? How we forget sooo soon.

Also, i have yet to see someone come in here and give a GOOD reason why this car isnt mint. I mean maintance costs that you all speak of. Have any of you guys had a german car recently? Thats like saying the acura/honda are reliable cars cuz the older ones were. But are they reliable now? NOO they have problems as well. So stereotyping german cars is WRONG. Go to the audi forums, and you will see how they dont have as much problems as you all try to make it sound.

Also since when does a car have to be based off of 1/4 times, and how much HP it has? Not everyone has a small dick to care about such things. A4 is soild car, with great options and handling. The car is soo well made, and its not made of cheap materials like some other cars. Lets not forget the AWD which would be perfect for Amir.

bottom line, YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET.
Im sorry but some of you forget that, and just think about VALUE, or SPEED.

Amir...

Went to the race track this afternoon and a dealer had this on display. This is the first time I've seen the convertible in person. It's actually really small. Nothing I would consider.

Sigh

The A4 is a nice looking, if overpriced car. Isn't it actually a sportier version of a Passat?
I have driven and owned German Cars actually a company known as BMW produced the one I drove.
You know what? The cliche, "The grass is always greener on the other side" is too true. You will find that quality and maintenance issues, when put all together, your $46K car will have the same issues as the $30K Acura CL-S. Yes, this is from experience.
Seems like most people here are looking for dragsters or true racing cars but they don't want to give up on A/C or leather seating.
Why did Audi bother putting rear seats in the cabriolet? It looks like a shelf in those pictures.

That's awesome Amir..

I'm hooking up this kit to my car, and I'm getting RS4 rims sometime next week. With 255/35/18s

Dunno about the red, but it should look good on Nogaro Blue..

I love the Oettinger kit, but dude don't spend that much on rims. I can hook you up for a lot cheaper.. The dolphin grey looks even better in person.. Great choice

thanks steve,

but how much do those RS4 rims weigh??

i want the rims to be really light, but look good still...

steve did u check this out? http://www.rs4.org/wheels.htm they found RS4 wheels to be of extremely poor quality...are u gettin the replica's or the real thing?

Geez Jesal whats eatin you today??? That was a stupid comment he made, but usually you show a little more restraint.

Come on admit it, Jesal dont tell me that part of the reason you traded from the TL to the 330 wasn't for the snob appeal. Sometimes you do pay more just for that in itself, so looking at value when a big chunk of your hard earned money is going into something isnt a bad thing to do.

I like the new and last gen A4's, just think they need a little more power. The current ones exterior styling seems a little more feminine to me now. I love the new front end, but think the rear is ok; overall I still like the last gen A4 exterior styling a little better because I loved that whole car, but put some nice rims, a drop and maybe a kit on the new A4 and they look amazing. The new A4 interior is without a doubt the best in class.

Cant wait to see the new S4. the few pics I saw probably didnt do it justice. The subtle changes on the last S4 over the A4 did so much for the look of the car. I loved em. Theres no chance you can squeeze one in your budget?? I think the S4 will still undercut the M3 substantially and wont be too much more than the cabriolet which is priced much higher than the sedans.

Not sure about the size on the 18, i know the 17s are 19.6 lbs.

The wheels that bend were the first models of the original rim. The replicas are strong, and no one has seen bending..

Steve @wheel and tire zone, gets them for me at wholesale, warranty too..

There are plenty of good rims that are light, i just love these

What are some good Audi Forums? I hate Audiworld... just don't like the way it's setup.

We're doing some preliminary shopping as my wife needs a new car. One of the cars we're looking at is the A4 (probably 1.8t), however, I'm very skeptical b/c of the history they've had with thier turbos. I'd like to do some reading before we really make a decision. Of course she'll drive the car to see if she likes it... but I'd like to do some reading on them.....
