Pulley Question

What's up guys! Well i broke down and ordered the supercharger today. My question is do i have to put the factory pulleys back on? Right now i have the unorthodox crank pulley and aem alt. and ac pulley on the car. I also order the high boost pulley is there anythings i should know or do when installing. Should i get bigger injectors? Any tips would be great, i am new to the sc crew! Thanks in advance!

Is it the underdriven crank pulley? If so you will need to put the stock pulley back on.

The power steering pulley won't make a difference. The alternator pulley will be replaced anyway with the one in SC kit.

You should be able to use all your aftermarket pulleys, however it is likely that you will have to replace the belts as the installation of the SC will change your current settings. As to the alternator pulley, I had an AEM one on my old car, it was significantly lighter then the stock one. I don't know how the new one is, but I'm guessing the AEM one is lighter and smaller then the one that comes with the SC. Just my 2 cents on things...

you should do little less guessing...steve set you straight....if your crank is an under driver version you'll wanna swap it out...unless your buying the HB pulley but only want about 5 psi?

Just to reiterate what Scalbert and TypeR said you need to remove the Ultra S crank pulley b/c it is smaller in diameter and will cause you to run less boost. However, UR has now made the Ultra Sc 12 Volt/Charger pulley which is the same diameter as stock but is still lighter weight so you can still reap virtually the same hp gains. Let me know if you need one.

Just for reference. If you ran the underdriven crank pulley even with the HBP, you would see only about 2 - 3 PSI.

Or about 1-1.5 psi on the stock boost pulley. A nice fall day with high pressure will give you that increase

Just monitor fuel pressure. 65psi w/o vacuum 35psi in vacuum.

Speaking of, I'm having fuel pressure issues again, or so it seems. I'm willing to bet it's the damn Autometer pressure sensor again.

So i don't need to change injectors or anything else with the hbp? What is the best way to monitor fuel pressure?

Nope stock injectors. Maybe a slight fuel pressure regulator adjustment. Autometer and Stewart Warner both sell 100psi fuel pressure electronic gauges. The gauges MUST BE electronic unless you want to mount them outside the car.

That's their standard practice on all their kits from my understanding.

Do you think it is worth me buying the lightend crank pulley with charger, or is it not even worth it?

No one has done a before and after dyno so we can't tell if it truly has any gains.
