power steering pump reseal

power steering pump reseal
I'm about to get my timing belt replaced soon and I had my car looked at a couple weeks ago and was told that the power steering pump was starting to leak and it would need to be resealed. My dealership said it would be $300 to fix.
I have a 20% off maintenance coupon too, so the total would actually end up being $240 for the P/S pump reseal, and $600 for the timing belt.
Is $240 a good price for the P/S pump reseal, or is it way too expensive? Reason I'm asking is because I did a quick google search and it seemed like you could get a brand new pump for around that much.

first of all, how many miles on the car???, normally they don't need a reseal for honda pumps, sounds like they are kinda bullshitting you, but also it may indeed be leaking and need a reseal, IDK i am not there (pictures of the p/s pump area would help)

I am in the same boat. The reseal service will cover ONLY the seals for 12 months/12k miles. If you buy a reman pump from the dealer the warranty is 36months/36k miles on all components (I would verify and get this in writing from your dealer though.) The warranty remains even if you install yourself. It's a no brainer for me seeing as the two options are the same price.
