hi, anyone connected a power inverter to the car using a +12v from the car cigarette line? Or would it be better to just run it with a splice from the stock radio? My main goal is to permanetly powered the power inverter when on ignition or alarm control. Which would the best way to do it so it doesn't drain the battery? thanks

If your going to hard wire, hard wire direct to the battery & run a good fuse.
Most power inverters do work fine however with the standard 12V lighter plug.
I had 1 running some stuff on another car I had. Just make sure it's rated for the amps your going to draw.

I had one plugged into the 12V plug in the armrest constantly. I just got one with a power switch so I could turn it off, it also isn't powered when the car is off as I remember.

u hard wire it to the battery and run a relay on the ignition. this way it still turns on with the ignition, but is connected directly to the battery.

Thanks for the suggestions. What I will do is put a relay (60 secs delay) after the car turns on to power the inverter to the car battery or maybe cigarette 12v line.
