Potential newbie - Looking for answers...

Howdy, I'm currently looking for a new vehicle to replace my '91 Mustang GT which i love but is getting old and unreliable. I've managed to stumble upon these CLs and am looking at a few but I'm looking for some advice from others. The car i'm most interested in is a 01 3.2CL Type S. However, I really don't know much about the vehicles and what to look out for when thinking about buying one. Beyond the usual checks for a used car, is there anything specific to this type of car that I need to be looking for/aware of? How many miles can I expect to get out of one before it dies on me? what's the cost of work relative to other vehicles? how easy is it to work yourself? Anything else that you might see relavent would be greatly appreciated.

please forgive the ignorance on my part. I've been a V8 muscle car type guy my entire life but am now looking for something a little more economical that still will give me a good time if I want it to. These CLs seem like they have to potential to do that, but I honestly have no experience with them. Thanks for any help.

cheers,

Matt

watch out for the tranny's they are like glass. if I were you I would try to get a 03 6speeed. other than the tranny they are a great car. I got lucky with mine, no tranny problems, but they do have a 100k mile war thru acura on the tranny so if u find low miles and plan to sell before 100k. then that wouldnt be a problem

There are really no problems to look for. Some people have had some tranny trouble but knock on wood, every body I know in Atl and NC, plus myself have never had any problems. Helll it is a Honda, you should be able to get 250,000 miles out of her. Only thing is at 105,000 miles to change the timming belt and tune up, but other than that is it.

I love my CLS and it is hard to beat for the money, but as above, the best bang for the buck is a 03 6spd.

Good luck

I love the refinement of the CLS and the shifter ( I have the 6speed. 03 only) and it's loaded with features. Not a Mustang fan particularly, but I love the CLS!
at least test drive the 2003 6-speed version, kinda rare, only 3,000 were produced for the US. good luck.
