my three best times, all on the same day at the same track (houston raceway park) back in january.
my car was/is completely stock. I had a full tank of gas, a spare, and I didn't jack with tire pressures. all my runs were completed in d5, and each of these three were done with traction control turned off.

Repost from last week runs,

========================================
My numbers sucks even with CAI and I was unable to control wheel spin at lunch.
I even lost for a CIVIC Si.
I was chriping, peeling, smoking, hopping you name it ... that sucks last year I did better... The only good thing is Trap speed is higher than last year.
CLS run with empty trunk and no donut wheel too !
here are my 3 runs:
1) Run1: 8:06 PM, D3 VSA off, no brake torque ( Peeling, Torque Steering ):
R/T 0.706
60' 2.902
330 7.494
1/8 10.886
MPH 73.140
1000 13.788
1/4 16.233!!!!
MPH 92.820
2) Run2: 9:04 PM, D4 VSA off, (forget A/C on) no brake torque ( Peeling, Torque Steering ):
R/T 0.558
60' 2.800
330 7.166
1/8 10.568
MPH 72.870
1000 13.482
1/4 15.925!!!!
MPH 92.52
3) Run3: 9:26 PM, D4 VSA off, (A/C OFF) 1000-1500 RPM brake torque ( Peeling, Torque Steering ):
R/T 0.901
60' 2.584 (Good! Brake torque helped)
330 6.890
1/8 10.257
MPH 73.33
1000 13.156
1/4 15.591!!!!
MPH 92.77
Lesson learn.. you want to do to the strip... buy slick tires or at least UHP Summer Tires ( Nitto 555 or Toyo Proxies T1-S) Added power no grip means lower numbers.
I noticed that with each run the ambiant temprature was cooler which helped the CAI to do its trick...
I am only sad cause last year I did 15.4s @90.31MPH!!, 60' was 2.370s!!

Given,
Nashua's Run:
15.591s @ 92.77 MPH
Toker's Run:
14.6s @ 94 MPH
Now, the question, why for only 2.22 MPH difference in Trap Speed will account for almost 1s difference in ET?
Does it mean that I was losing traction badly and once I my tires got a grip, I was able to recover some ground?
Thanks for your feedback.

If that is the case, you were really hauling to get the trap speed.
Were you slipping and a sliding away?
IF you were running with cold temps out (I think -- yes/no?) and got a lousy launch
and
WebToker got a good launch, but he had high humidity and temp, that could account for it.
(But he only mentioned the high temp and humidity for the last time out...)

Yep, you are right.... losy launch.... slipping and sliding, my times should improved a lot when I put on those NITTOs 555. I Hope the 18" will not slow me too much.
Hopefully, the konig will show up before next wednesday....

I'm by no means an expert, but I did drag my turbo Integra about 60 times, so I feel confident in saying that while MPH and ET are, of course, related -- MPH is a better judge of the power your car is making while the ET is a good judge of your launch. Again, these figures are by no means mutually exclusive, but the time is no more important than the MPH in judging 1/4 mile performance.
Let me explain a little more... I've had 2.2 60' times and 1.8 60' times with the Integra (street tires versus slicks). The ETs were ~.7 apart on those runs, but the MPHs were within ~1.2 of each other.
If two cars, one FWD and one RWD, both having similar power-to-weight ratios, were to drag race you'd see this phenomenon every time. It doesn't take a lot of power to overwhelm the front tires of a FWD car on a launch (especially given that the weight is transferring OFF of them under acceleration).

SI's are S L O W. B16a motor just blows. Maybe if you had a forced SI u'd stand more of a chance against a CL-S modded. But comon... my measly 2.2 is a better comparison. I've never lost to a modded SI at the track even when the pressure is on... IDRC @ Atco, IDRC @ e-town. They're supposed to be faster on the highway... I always burn them on the highway... I don't understand that either.
There are actually some SI drivers that are good. I haven't raced against them yet. Good times in modded SI's are like 15.2 and such. But i dunno.... civic drivers.... they always want to race... be realistic.

Racer
CLTypeR, don't mind the SI driver, he is a buddy of mine, I told him about the CL forum, and he just wanted to post that to get attention, he knows I will blow him away even with my stock CL-S. It is true those SI drivers think they are the best racers on the planet. Everytime I pull up to an SI, they want to race, but i'm at 850 miles so only 150 left till I'm broken in, then I can race with those Ricers heheheh.

Bump......
EricL..... What are your 0-60 & 1/4 mile times? With your setup (headers & light wheels) they should be pretty good.
