heheh, ya'll don't know Nitrotigers car Keep on talkin out of your ass daytrader.
BTW,
CLS isn't slower that the Maxima, Altima or even the G35c. Perhaps your slow ass automatic can't hang but we 6speeders are doing just fine.

Here is why u dont have a chance:
First, a stock 99 996 auto dyno's between 235-245rwhp and 215-225rwtq.
second, it is way lighter than ur car(2910lbs Vs. Ur 3550lbs).
Third, the 996 has very aggressive gearing too even the auto.
Conclusion, even if ur car did put down 250whp to the wheels u will still have no chance due to the big weight difference(around 600lbs).
I hope this helps.

Isn't there a turbo CL-S that just recently got completed (allmotor)? W/ the numbers from that car (~300WHP?), it should hang w/ the 996. Never take Porsches lightly though, I tried racing a boxter S once w/ my CL-S (auto 5), got SPANKED.

daytrader: a few words of wisdom for you.
1. Most of the CL owners on this board love their car for what it is. They are NOT ricers. Talking like the way you do will only get you banned and a bad rep for 996 owners.
2. They also realize that there are superior cars out there. However, it's the love for the CL that matters the most.
3. A properly tuned CL turbo will hold it's own at the 1/4 drag strip. If you think that all Jap cars are POS, ever seen the video of the '99 3000GT whip a 2002 996 TT's ass? Funny, isn't it?
4. I feel that the thread was started the wrong way. The initiator is the thread obviously didn't know about the 996, this is why his statement was in the form of a QUESTION. Why rip a guy for something that he isn't aware of?
5. E46 M3 is a fair challenge for any MT 996 coupes (I have done it before, RT 95, PA.). E46 M3 will obsolutely SPANK any auto 996s (excluding TT or GT2, of course). If you think otherwise, I welcome a challenge.
PS. Last time I checked, the 1999 996 MT ran average of 13.8 seconds @ 103 mph. The E46 M3s can run the same 1/4 in mid to low 13's. If the 996 is an auto ... it would be even sillier, don't you think?

LOL...I just checked 1/4s for e46 M3 on autosite.com. Its in high 13s and low 14s. 1/4s for 996 is in the low 13s. I spanked couple E46 M3s w/my 996, so I know for a fact that there's no way e46 is faster. Pretty close from 0-80, but after that 996 is just keep on pulling away.
333hp 3500lbs vs 300hp 3000lbs its a no brainer.

You win then. Congratulations. If that's what the specs. say, then that's what the specs. say. Notice that I never said that the E46 will pank a 996 MT. I know of people who's own GT2s and Rufs, I have no doubts that 996 is a beauty. Congrats on your ownership.
PS. You may want to check out www.car-stats.com, the difference between a 2002 M3 MT and a 2002 991 MT.
X50 - What are your thoughts on this package? Is it true that it's the power of a GT2 + conforts of a TT?

Why do you keep calling CL drivers ricers in every fucking post you make....it's like Groundhog's Day when you post, the same lines keep repeating themselves over and over.
Why you haven't been banned yet is beyond me, you're posts are not constructive, you're an inflamed Hemorrhoid, and you're fake.

Look at the way he writes, do you think someone who has $180k+ dollars worth of cars talks like that?

X50 is isane fast. I spanked my friend's 500hp+ Z06 easily. I don't think 996TT or GT2 is comfortable to drive. If you ever drive or ride in one, you know what I'm talking about. I can't hear my radio or even carry on a conversation w/my passenger when I drive on the fwy. That's why I buy a CL for daily driving.
Btw, Beltfed grow up kid. You just a ricer that wants attention. LOL~

I know of people who can barely talk straight that owns better cars than the 996 TT. Let's give a kid a chance, see if he's really talking the truth.

500hp+ Z06?! Whoa ... that's a bit out there for me, got any pictures or slips to back that up? Seriously ... the only thing that a Z06 lacks when compared to BMWs, MB, or Porsches is build quality. If you don't consider it, it's one hell of a car right out of the factory. 450HP porsche vs 500HP+ Z06 ... I just can't believe that the Z06 got "spanked"?!
As for the GT2 ... I beg to differ. I have personal friends (4 of them to be exact) that owns this beautiful car. I know that atleast 1 of them uses it as a daily driver. Yes, provided that at first it took a few weeks to get used to it (RWD+No TCS+460HP), but 2 of them are now talking w/ Mr. Ruf (had a meeting w/ him actually, a few days ago), and thinking about getting their GT2s modded to 600HP. However, as for a daily driver ... none of them complains. Oh well, to one's own right? Maybe you had a different experience.
May I ask you another question? Why the CL-S? Personally, given your status and budget, I would aim for something more in the BMW M5 range.

Yup, easily spanked that 500hp+ Z06. Its not even close, ahead about 5-6 cars length from 0-120. If you really know 2 GT2 owners, then you shouldn't ask those stupid questions. You should know what 996TT is capable of.

Sorry for the stupid questions then. Please accept my apologies. However ...
1. I know of 4 GT2 owners. Not 2.
2. If I know what a GT2 rides like, it doesn't necessary mean that I know what a TT rides like.
Hm ... something interesting you should know though ...
996TT (MT) - Dry weight is 1,540 kg.
Z06 (MT) - Dry weight is 1414 kg.
996 TT X50 - 450HP
Z06 (MT) - 500+HP
You are still saying that you SPANKED a Z06 ... maybe the driver shifted from 1st to 4th?
Chaptorial - Yes. There's a group of M5, 996 TT, GT2, Ferrari, Lambo owners that share a board. Frequent meetings and gatherings are when I get to see these beautiful cars. The last meeting we had was up in North Jersey, it was a last moment notice though, so I weren't able to make it.

What are your thoughts about their formula? What sort've errors do you see? What type of market conditions prevents their forumla from working?
Black & S <- You know what S stands for right?
Let's first establish your trader's credibility ... then we'll talk cars.

zeroday: ROFL, give the kid some time, he may have to research the subject a bit.
Ah ... cool, just discovered extra smilies. ROFL!
<- hahahaha, awesome!
As for today, I am going home! :whocares: about what people think of your car, there are always faster cars out there. As for the CL, it'll always be a beauty in my mind. However, I guess that I'll have to settle for my M3 that's slower than a 996.
Going to put on some music , get my on, turn on sports mode , drive home and the girlfriend.
Later guys.

An E46 M3 in manual form is a low 13s car. My good friend took his E46 M3 to RT66 on a hot/humid summer night and mustered a 13.3 with a sub par 60'. THIS WAS HIS FIRST TIME EVER AT THE DRAG STRIP. Thats good enough to hang with any 996 Carrera manual.
This guy needs to be banned....FOR BEING AN IDIOT!

With a S/C, Turbo or some NOS, the 996 (non-turbo) is possible and with a high-horsepower setup... could approach a 911 TT, but that's kinda tough! Maybe on the freeway.
