Polyurethane Vs Fiber Glass

New Question----

---real Difference Between The Two Substance Used To Making A Body Kit. Fiber Glass And Polyeurethane??????----

Not That Polyurethane Is Better Then Fiber, But Some Real Facts Contrasting The Two.

Some Even Say Fiber Glass Can Be Better, Because Its Lighter??

Wow, you have some misinformation!

Urethane is normally MUCH better than fiberglass with body kits. First off, the urethane bumpers are A LOT more durable than their fiberglass counterparts. If you hit something with it, normally it will pop back into place (kind of like a rubbermaid trash can) and all you have to do is paint it. Fiberglass will actually BREAK and you have to replace the entire bumper. Also, fitment is normally a LOT better since urethane is harder to work with and the companies producing the body kits have put a lot more time and effort into fit and finish. A good fiberglass body kit takes about 10 or so layers to make the bumper (or any body panel) sturdy enough to endure some road abuse---this in turn makes the body kit heavy. Also, most body shops HATE working with fiberglass because the prep time is higher than dealing with a urethane pieces.

The drawback is that urethane body kits cost more- sometimes double the price.

POLY FIBER Material???

Polyfiber kit- the revolutionary new poly fiber combining the best from urethane and fiberglass into one material. These kits have oem like fitment. They also require little to no prep work .

Anyone heard of this new material? What is this about?

Poly-Fiber has actually been used on aircracfts for over 30 years. I don't know of any bodykits that are currently made used poly-fiber, but here is a little info I found (Google is your friend)
