PLEASE HELP : Insurance just hiked up big time

Man, am I having a bad day. I just found out from my insurance company that they are no longer going to cover me! Grrr..... My record only has 1 speeding ticket and an accident. Now, I am looking at car insurance and I am getting quoted like 4500/yr ... what the hell is that? Can anyone help?!?! Does anyone have a hook up?!?!?!

OK then you should be covered no matter what... Ask around and ask for your insurance risk profile.. 1 accident and 1 speeding ticket is not a cause to make the insurance premium $4500/yr!!!

Who is your current insurance company? Check for quotes at Geico and Progressive (who I have).

$4500.00/yr!!! How old are you? Just curious...

Scrib, like I said I am 19 so I think this is why the rate is so high. I was with State Farm and I checked quotes for geico and progressive and they were around 4500

You just answered one of my questions above when I was posting and asking the same question...

You're 19 with one ticket and one accident... $4500.00 still sounds high, but I would imagine it'd be somewhere in the $2000/yr range considering your age, IF you didn't have any tickets and/or accidents...

The CL-S is in a high class for insurance...

yeah dude!! that is what i got her. I forgot who she is with but i just put her info on that site and they sent me an email telling me two or three companies (they listed the companies) would call me or email me within the next four days with a quote. The allstate emailed and left a voice mail and sent a letter. I called him back. He was real nice. He told me that he had emailed and sent a normal letter yadda yadda yadda he quoted a rate of like 100 bucks a month whereas all the other quotes (progressive etc. were telling me 2400-2600 a year!!)

He also took the time to tell me how long he has been in business, who does most of his estimates...the garages in our area who they prefer to use (but not if you dont want to). Very positive experience.

I have a 2003, what do you think? And i am single. Ive been with progressive for 4 years and only had 1 $300 claim. When i had my maxima before this car, my insurance was $1000 a yr. Im considered an ultra premium customer. Find an insurance co. and stick with em, that drops your premium alone.

If you consistently get high rates quoted to you and then all of a sudden you find somebody that will cover you for pennies on the dollar, doesn't that raise some red flags to you? Or do you feel like you just got lucky?

All I am saying is be careful who you get insurance with....

oh yeah, like i feel sorry for you

:P

my insurance just went up from 391 a month to 588 (actually it's 600.01/month without life insurance)

yup that's right, 600.01 a month.

i have 3 speeding tickets and 7 accidents on my recored.

yes, 7 accidents. i am only at fault for one. the 6 others are from people hitting me, totalling my cars, rearending me, you name it.

no other insurance company will take me. BUT state farm will keep me at 600.01 a month

i envy you :P

oh, and 600.01 a month is 7200.12 a year :P

i just went to court today to schedule a court date to fight another ticket i got last month, AND i just got in the mail my other ticket i got two weeks ago from a CHP.

i hope i win the first one so that i can goto traffic school for the second since i only get 1 traffic school.

if i lose the first one, it will go on my record, thus, increasing my insurance even more on the next renewal my life sux.

I make 80K a year in dayton, oh, very low living costs, and if i had to pay 600/month, i would not be owning my CL-S. That is ri-god-damn-diculous!

Why would this affect your insurance if it was not your fault!!!!

because i'm considered to be very "at risk" so i now pay high insurance. trust me, last month when i got the letter that said it was going from 391 to 588 (600.01 with life insurance), i nearly shit my pants. that's just so goddamn rediculous.

if nobody believes me, i'll scan in the letter i just got two days ago from state farm saying that on the 28th of this month they are deducting 600.01 and for me to make my account reflect the deduction.

ugh. such is my life

FUCK THAT…….
My car would be FOR SALE if I had to pay 600 a month for insurance.
I’d drive an old 500-dollar beater until I had a clean record.

For the record, I’m paying Allstate 1,100 a YEAR for TWO drivers and TWO cars with FULL coverage and LOW (200 Collision & 100 Comprehensive) deductibles.

Do you have insurance under you parents? If u do, ur getting this rate cause ur family has more than one car and u guys get discounts for that.

For the rest of us that are on our own and not yet 25 have it bad I think I'm near 350 a month now
