Pilot sport vs. sport A/S
A lot of the tire talk has been about all season tires. I live in South TX and we usually only have one season, hot! So I was wondering if anyone has put any pilot sport (not the A/S) on CL stock rims and if so, what size? And just because it is not all season, does that mean the treadlife is shorter?
After doing the math on the available sizes for a 7 inch rim, it looks like they will be shorter than the stock rims. This would make my car look even more like an offroader. I guess I'll finally have to break down and drop the thing. Anyone recommend an installer in South TX for comptech mods?

Take it to Gunn Acura or David MacDavid dealers they sell the CT stuff and also install it. I live in laredo,TX and I had my stuff done in IrvingTx at Goodson Acura, just because I was going to Dallas for CME seminar. They treated me very well and were excited to do the work. Gunn service can sometimes be a pain in the rear. David McDavid they are all out with the CT

I've got Pilot Sports (225/45-17) on stock wheels. No complaints about tread wear. They're slightly shorter than stock so the wheel gap is a bit more noticeable. Definitely lower yours if you're considering them. The gap would be ridiculous without a drop.
here's a pic of mine for reference:

Are you at all concerned about the load rating on those tires for old bertha?

That load rating is based on the car's maximum loaded weight which, according to the sticker in the door jam, is 4365 lbs. That's the weight of the car plus the car's carrying capacity (700 lbs) plus 150 lbs.
Max weight load for 4 tires rated 93 is 5732 lbs; for 91 rating, is 5424 lbs. IMO, that's more than enough buffer above the max vehicle weight (especially since I never carry near the 700 lbs capacity limit.)

well, it's roughly a two finger gap in front and a 2.5 finger gap in back. They're H&R OE Sport springs but I "customized" the front springs (people here get upset when they hear the word "cut"
). Here's the amount I removed (more from the driver's side since it was a bit higher):
