exactly, I don't want a really heavy wheel...the car starts, stops and turns better with my current light rims...I'd like to keep it that way...a lot of rims posted, are a lot like the Volk's I already have...I could always upgrade to 19" volks

Astro the rims are both classy, look great, AND have the look that lasts for years. They aren't of the kind that look flashy for a half-year, then look so played because they were designed for the extremely young and impulsive buyer. With some of the suggested wheels picts I'd almost bet in 6 months you'll start thinking of putting the stockers back on. To bad you have rubbing issues.
Good luck and do it for you.

If your interested in anything BBS you might try the following url.
Great site for BBS fitment info on most sporty cars. (except the 01 -02 Acura's but you know what specs you need anyways)
http://www.nascarplace.com/bbs/catalog.htm
On a side note I went through the biggest and deepest pothole in NYC I've ever seen receiving only a tiny scratch on the lip. No bending outside or inside the rim. (5 minutes later the city finally put cones around the pit) I _know_ the stockers and most others would have been crushed by the hole. Another reason I bought the BBS rollers was that our favorite Park Avenue German mechanic told me that the BBS are very very strong.
Although only 17 x 7.5 mine weigh 20lbs/each.
Good Luck

Astroboy it's looking good so far. But you wanted it to be a show winner right? Well cars win shows because of the little things, not to say wheels don't matter. You want a wheel that people come up to and it just blows them away. You need something diff. and new that no one else has. For my point I think you should seriously consider Dronells. Their new evolution is in forged wheels. 19's that weigh in at 8.6 kg...what is that in lbs? Their website is www.dronell.com I suggest the Dronell II. A guy on his CLS has them here and they catch my eye like nothing else. For some reason they make your head look up and at them. The pics here don't look good, but in real life their awesome. they have them in 19x7.5 to 19x10. Aaron I think you like Dronells too, right?

And I would guess your ruling out white rims because they just aren't classy enough for the TLS. Any have a pic or can photoshop black powdercoated rims on a white car...I don't really know how good it would loook.

I love Dronell wheels. StreetEffectz posted pics of a black 3 series that had a set of 19s on it. From what I believe, you can order them online. They list all sorts of different offsets, so I don't know if they can custom make a set. I contacted them a while ago and I think it takes 4 weeks to get wheels, so maybe they do make them specifically for each vehicle. Anyhow, I think Dronell's would be a great choice. ON the flip side, if they're an aluminum wheel they'll be really light, but will also bend easily.

Astro, you can go to Wheeloptions.com to order the Dronells if you want. But i have a feeling that the offset that you need willl not fit that great because of your Brembo kit. If you get 19x8's you will surely have to get a very high offset, around +50 (maybe more). Not too many places make that type of offset casue it kills the lip on the rim. You dont want to get stuck ordering rims and then having them not fit or rub when you get them. I say go the way of custom, HRE's, Fikse's, etc, unless you can get a real overseas Japanesee wheel shipped to you with a very high offset.

thanks once again cornbeef, and aaron ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I will look into the offset measurements...
I know what offset my wheels are now, but I don't knowwhat offset I need....can anyone tell me how to measure the offset that I would need, including taking into account my brakes?
TIA to ANYONE who can help me out here

actually, your calipers will have no bearing on offset...in fact, those se37a wheels would have fit the car pretty well. what you are concerned about is wheel face/disk design...specifically, the rear of the wheel face. you need to buy wheels with faces that have a curve along the back...maybe common wheels that have sunken face centers with protruding spokes, or true japanese wheels with caliper consideration.
your situation is very similar to mine...i have a 2002 tl-s too, but the 1-pc 19" rh c2 evolutions would not clear the front calipers...the back of the spokes were touching the caliper!
what you can do, in the meantime, is to measure between the plane of the rotor hat (where the wheel touches the rotor) and the plane of the caliper...er, "thickness". you then will need to measure from the center of the rotor (where you see that nut and clip) outward towards the the farthest point...er, the radius.
it is hard for me to explain this to you without being in your presence, but i hope you understood those last two important points. they will help you locate common wheels that will fit your car. but if you were to order real japanese made to order rims, you should be okay even without these measurements.
let me know if something did not make sense...
the older volk racing f-zero winnings might fit (and look very similar to the wheels you have now)...

btw, did you ever mention your current wheel specs...width and offset?

thanks pastrami, I'll do that tomorrow ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
my current rims are 18x7.5" with an offset of 48mm....I am runniing a 5mm spacer in each front wheel so that the rear dish clears my calipers...

thanks for that info...it helped me to help you some more! ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
when you take the wheel off, lay something protective on the ground and lay the wheel face down. now place the spacer on the mounting surface. then place something flat, like a ruler, on top of the spacer. now measure the space between the bottom of the flat object to the back of the wheel face. this is the value you need when i asked you to measure the space between the rotor plane and the caliper plane. it can possiblu be an overestimate of course...but measure the car if you need the exact value.
you are looking for wheels with face backs like this...

oh...your welcome!

Those look bad ass!!! Maybe they can custom make them to fit our cars. I think these on the TL would look VERY good.

I will do this today, and start calling around to find ones that will fit correctly![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I like those dronell m10s but they aren't going to fit...they only come in 8.5" width and up and the bolt pattern is wrong also...

Bling Bling, is like real flashy, in a way that everyone looks and says damn, that guy is loaded with $$ and living a good life with $$ and woman, .. it is derived from Rap music.
A man in a bently that has 22" rims, with loud hip hop music, and is dressed like he is not a nerd, thats the best example of bling bling i can give you...
i did a bad job of explaining...haha, someone else try... its KIND of related to the word "pimp" that is also thrown around a lot.
