It looks good. I think with the TL-S though you should think about different rims.

The comptech exhaust tips don't stick out? are they too short to fit on the TL-S?

It looks amazing. [B]Of course![B] I'm dying to see your Brembo brakes on there. I would kill for a bodykit like that for my car. Anyhow, here's my opinion. You have all these sports cars...I think you should donate those Zeal coilovers to a needed acura-cl addict and do air cylinders on there. The satisfaction of knowing you can lay your car flat on the ground at anytime....priceless.

Imagine being able to set your car like this ANYTIME you want in a matter of seconds.

His paint is White Diamond Pearl... not Taffeta White like yours.

Astro. Nice! But yea... you need diff rims. Those things do not match at all.

You need somethin a lil more bling for that car... theres nothin sporty about it... so sporty wheels just dont go. IMO at least

I'm not sayin ya need some 20" chromies but... just somethin with a little meat to it...

(AND YOU NEED 19'S)

(edit: sorry... this was posted by soopa. soopa is at phil's house... and his keyboard is bootleg so I'm too lazy to re-post in my name )

oh puhleez mang!

your roads are in better shape then in upstat, ny! thats for damn sure.

this state only repairs roads once every 100 years

and why do they have to be under 17lbs each? I thought you werent gonna drive this thing? You were just gonna show it??

Seriously man... 17lbs each in something that looks GOOD is a talll order.

you need something with lots of metal on that car.

all the cars lines are chubby... so why would you have some skinny ass wheels!

maybe its just in pics, but it looks too plain.

whats up with the 17 pound rule?

I think man, since you got a porsche, you dont need speed anymore, make it a PURE PIMPING car, FAT rims, pure multemedia shit going on.

No more need for speed.

You just gotta pump the music, and drive slow in the car... with lots of videos and lights and shit going crazy inside.

Throw on some crazy ass 19's, and just drive real slow, or get some REALLY hype 18's..

But if i could afford 19's, i would sacrifice the extra precausion of hunting down potholes that would bend my rims. 19's is something you dont see that often, so seeing it on a car like your, would rEALLY stick out. My neighbors jagaur had huge rims, i think they were 20's but he went through a 8 months without problems with the car.

holy FOCK, those are the UGLIEST rims I've EVER laid eyes on, 4pumped.

As for Astroboy: fix the bodykit and the exhaust and it will look okay. Other than that, maybe some different rims.

I'm a newbie here when it comes to posting, but I have been looking at these posts since the board opened. I notice that most of the owners here are older and seem to like that "bling" look when i comes to rims, which is not a bad thing. But you seem to lose in the fact that the TLS is sport tuned and meant as a sporty/luxury car. The wheels should fit this image of the car. I believe Astroboy made a good choice in the rims, for the combo of performance and looks. I understand some of you look at it as a luxury car, and what it to look as such, but if he wanted luxury he would have gotten a GS300, or E320 (not to mention paying an extra 8 grand or so ). It seems that most just post personal opinions rather than just contragulating the man on his nice custom job. For example, why would anyone get Enkei's which is a cast heavy wheel, vs. a high quality Volk wheel which is light weight and forged. By the other tuning efforts of Astroboy, seems like hes going for a good speed/handling combo, and the wheels he has are perfect.

Sorry for the long post, but it just seems that people should give helpful comments rather than one's that satisfy their own personal like/dislikes.

NO FLAMES PLEASE....

I agree with you. Thats what i love about the TLS soo much, you can go either way, PIMP or SPORT. Even both. Just cuz i wouldnt do that to my car doesnt mean i dont like his. I think his looks great!

Hey astro, what ya gonna do for a spoiler? LIP or OEM?
Im going to be putting the LIP on in about 2 weeks.

i was under the impression that since the owner also owns a beeeautiful porsche, that it would meet all his speeding needs...

now its time for PIMP'ness

atleast, thats what i would do...have the best of both worlds.

yup, it's lowered on the H&Rs...but there is no rake at all...

I think the rims look OK but I want it to look awesome...another problem that I have is rubbing at all 4 corners...which never happened on the CL-S which means I need rims with a different offset for the TL-S..

ok, I need some help here, post some pics of 19s that you think will look good on the car...and I'll look around and see what I can actually get here....

Hey Astroboy, its prolly the weight of the TLS with the H&R's that makes it rub. Seeing that it didnt rub with the CLS the added weight of the TL is probably causing the rub because the offset setups should be exactly the same for both cars. What kind of H&R's are they, and whats the offset of your Volks anyway??? I think 19's would look really nice but the choices out there are really slim unless your willing to go about 800 to 1k a piece for rims. Some of the choices Advan Kruezer's, Blitz technospeed z1's, Custom HRE's or Fikse's.

corn beef:
I paid over a grand CDN for each of my Volks so I realize that 19's will be expensive...

I had comptechs on my CL-S...but it's more than the amount of drop or weight of the car, they visually stick out more on the TL-S than they did on the CL-S
the rims are 18x7.5" with an offset of 48mm...the front rims have a 5mm spacer behind them so that they clear my brembo calipers...

I do still need rims so any pics would be appreciated...I think if I got 19's a 2 or 3 piece rim would be ideal especially if they had to be fixed

astro, does the weight of the rim still matter?

you want chrome? i think you neeeeed chrome for pimping, isnt it written somewhere, in a book or something?

with Gold little screws in superchrome, would look FUCKING PIMP, LIKE GANSTER PURE PIMP on the car.

Altstadt III's..someone on the TL board has these, i think its Nate...looks AWSOME.

I think the spacer is probably helping to cause your rub. Just get rid of the Brembo kit, hahahahahahah, yeah right....with the spacer i guess that would make your offset more like a 43 or so but it makes the whole rim push out more which is probably the real problem.

These are made by DTMAutohaus, they are all custom to fit like HRE's, they cost about $700 a piece which isn't bad and are about 19lbs. or so.

Advan Kruezers, they run about $3800 with tires.

HRE 545's 3 piece (they come in 19x8.5 and run about 1K to 1200, just for the rim)

Blitz TEchnospeeds z1's will run about 4 to 5g's for the whole setup, come in 19x8 i believe special order from Japan

ENJOY

I also really like the these L-sportline Evolutions Model I. Too bad they only come in 20's and the offsets and boltpattern are for Lexus GS's.

You could always try to redrill them and go flair widebody the TL

Wow, Amir, those look pretty nice

cornbeef: damn, that's a lot of choices!
I think my favs of those would have to be the HRE's those look tight!
I'm gonna check up on them for now, and I'll look around, but nowhere here has nice rims so I'm stuck to searchin the net
thanks SO much for all the info, that is incredible

welcome to the board!
