Question PIAA 19224 road light bulb for my CLS

Since both of my stock road lights are out, I ordred and installed the PIAA 19224 (the white ones, not the yellow ones). Well, here is my problem, apparently the bulbs were pretty big (way bigger than the teeny tiny stock ones), and I had to somewhat jam them through the hole into the housing. Now I am worried about how I am going to get them out if they ever go out *knocking on wood*.

Anyone else has similar worries?

why did you "jam them through the hole" to begin with? if it doesn't fit, don't make it.

like a child pounding a square block through a circle opening.

those bulbs ARE a tight fit. all i have to say is lubrication. jk
just be careful on the way out whenever and for what reason you have to take them out. if they break, then just try not to get so much of that blue film crap to spread throughout the foglight housing.

It's a lot easier to just remove the roadlamp. You can remove those old bulbs rolling around inside and dremel or file the hole a little while you're at it. Check out this FAQ site for instructions w/pics: http://wizardsworks.org/chod/acura/m6/ (pics say Polargs, but I prefer the PIAA's)

A medium phillips screw driver will back the screw out enough to where you can reach inside the lower grill area and push the housing out from behind. After you've done it once, it's a breeze. The whole procedure can be done in 5 minutes.

it sounds like you went underneath the car throught the splashguard to do this. it's faster just taking out the single screw next to the foglight in the lower grille.

no that is how I did it. I ment it took 20 minutes including take out the screw changing bulbs putting it back in and then do it again on the other side. That was the entire time that it took to do both.

I want to put the white PIAA's in, but I don't like how during the day they stick out like blue nipples. Is there some kinda paint to make them clear, or maybe a clear bulb with similar output?

Yep, that is how I did it as well, faster and easier than unscrew the side screw which was pain in the butt.

how funny you described them exactly how I told my friends... now my CLS has two nick names:

blue nips
testicles (because one exhaust hangs slightly lower than the other one)

Anyway, I do have to say that the PA19224 looks so much better than the stocks... I don't think it will burn the housing either because I felt the housing after hours of driving with lights on, it was just warm. So PA19224 has my

Where do I get that paint that people use on bulbs to make them barely noticeable behind clear glass? I KNOW it exists, because I've read about it somewhere before, I just don't remember what it's called. As much as I love nipples, I don't want nipples in my roadlamps.

I don't want to come off rude, but I asked a very specific question for a reason. I've already done my research and determined that in my eyes PIAA > Polarg. You're not really adding anything of importance to this thread by simply stating your opinion - I asked for information, not an opinion.

Again, not trying to be rude, but it irks me when someone asks a real specific question and you hear "screw this, get that" or something to that effect. All it does is make the thread unneccessarily longer.

With that being said, back to my original inquiry:
