What grade of gas do you use? The manual states 91 or better, but......

BTW, I use 93.

I knew this car took 91 or better when I bought it. For better or worse, I'll keep the ECU and engine happy with what it wants.

I'd say that if you cannot afford gas for the car, then don't drive it. The difference between regular and premium is usually about 10 - 20 cents per gallon. A whole fill-up, say 15 gallons, rates about a $3 difference max. For $3 per tank, I'm not downgrading against the wishes of my ECU.

Our premium is 93 on the east coast, and in much of the country. In California, the premium is 91. Our ECU is tuned to 91 (according to the manual). I doubt us 93 folks get any gain over those using 91 (except for the F/I folks).

I'll fill up with 93, and when the tank get's to around half full I'll fill-up with 87 to save a few bucks (and fewer trips to Costco).

using 87 would only save me about $50 a year, so i give my car what it wants. Always 93.
