Park Ave. does it again!!! :) (18K service)
just when i thought the service couldn't get any better, i get my 18K service done!!!
Here was the lowdown:
1. 18K service (i supply the new Mobil 1 SuperSync)
2. springs/sways relubed with car grease (NOT Dow Corning grease that washes away with water)
3. headlights reaimed
4. tranny flushed
5. front rotors replaced
6. moonroof visor replaced (suspected of causing rattles)
total cost - $59.05
1 problem tho...i have some rubbing problems!!!!! on a 225-series tire!!! this was the problem i was trying to duplicate at the meet before it got started but couldn't duplicate...it was by chance that i was out driving with the mechanic duplicating rattles that i got this problem to come up!! i took some pics of the areas...my only explanation is the tread is way thick for a 50 sidewall height, so as u wear down the tread, the rubbing should go away
look for the really white spots in the pic below...i have this on both sides...i've worn away through the paint already

Are you running stock shocks? Cuz after around 20-22k my shocks were shit and I had to change to the Koni's. That may be why you're rubbing. I know Comptech is supposed to be good on stock shocks, but especially with nyc driving..I'm not too sure the stock shocks can hold up on anything more then stock springs.

And the “KONIS”, when added, can be a “problem”…
There was that rubbing problem with the 235/45-17 T1S + Konis + 17x8 SSRs + Comptechs that didn't happen with:
235/45-17 T1S + 17x8 SSRs + Comptechs (no KONIS)
OR
225/45-17 T1S + 17x8 SSRs + Comptechs (with KONIS) (That tiny bit of difference makes for zero rubbing... hmmm....)
So, the diameter of the 225 vs. 215 could be just enough to allow the tires to touch (depending on tire wear, springs, bump stop wear, improper installation of springs… [ask around])
