Get yourself a pair of fresh water silver dollars. They're cheap, hardy (they'll still be alive long after the GM gets bored with the tank and stops cleaning it), and they're a distant relative to the piranha and look very similar. You could tell customers that's what they were and only those who keep fish would know the difference.

Name one CL and one TL.
