Painting stock Rims ?

Can the 03 CLS stock rims be painted to look better? I don't think they look that good and hoped painting them a brighter silver would help, they look dull and gray on my white 6 speed. I don't want chrome but a few notches up in shine and brightness might help. I don't want to upgrade wheels right now.

I had my 19" Axis Hagens gun metal powder coated for $75 per wheel...I think it looks awesome...and powder coating is waaaaaaaaaay more durable than typical paint!

I would do the gunmetal look on the white car. I did it on my 98 Jetta VR6 and it looks awesome on the car. To make it shine you would need more clear coating on the rim instead of painting. Wheels America in San Antonio can fix the problem at a tune of $99 p/w.

I'm not sure what gun metal color is on a rim. I know generally gun metal seems like the same color stock is, a medium gray, I want more silver color. Where can I look at this powder coated gun metal? $100 a wheel better look like a brand new rim.

That's a chore, there is a mind boggling number of wheels out there. Where to look. Most I see I don't like, are too flashy or chrome. I want understated on this car, but nice.
These stock wheels are so plain and ugly and I'm usually happy with the stock rims I've had (on Legends.)
I looked at tire rack, didn't see much I liked.

123456: If you want to hook up with me somewhere in Chicago (I am in Palatine/home, Glenview/work), I have color charts from 5 different powder manufacturers in the car as I type! They're in the car cause a friend just redid his kitchen with a stainless steel theme, and he picked out a "chrome" powder coating for me to reshoot his ceiling fan in. The "chrome" really looks more like pewter, and is rather orange peely, so don't get your shorts is a bind. I can also give you a list of powder coating job shops in Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Addison, Chicago and others.

And if "the meet" takes place in busse woods, I will have the information also. Mine is the satin silver CLS6, no spoiler, no navi, with a blue pinstripe with an acura emblem built into said stripe on each fender. Or, Dfreder370@aol.com.
