Paint Opinion from OPEN MINDED folks
I've been in contact with a particular painter for some time now, and I think I'm going to have him paint some flames on my car. Let me know what you guys think. I've always wanted some kind of graphics, but keeping the car classy looking is very important to me. Thanks. Here's a picture of the flames painted on an Expedition.

normally i'm not a big fan of car graphics (espeically those in Fast and Furious)...
but those flames look very "hot". And in your case, since your pumped car is mostly for "show" I would definitely do it.
Have you thought about something more subtle...maybe like Astroboy's ride. I think a grey smoked flame would look hot on a black car.

yes they would look hot Robb!! umm... I mean Aaron.
no seriously, i think the job on that expedition would looK HOT AS HELL on your car.
I say go for it. That expedition looks good. On a smaller scale... (ie the CL) it would look dope.

No problem. They would look good.
I've always wanted to see the CL with that irridescent paint that Ford used a few years ago - changes from greenish to purplish with the lighting.

See if someone can photoshop a flame job similar to that expedition's on to your car. I'm having a hard time picturing a CL with a flame job, but it might actually look real good for a show car.

I wouldn't do any flames on the hood, they'd all be on the lower 20" of the sides of the car rolling off the front fenders. My first priority is building a car that I like...building a car to take trophies is secondary.

After seeing the photoshopped pics I have to vote YES! It especially looks good with your wheels. Just maybe have the flames start only from behind the wheel well and not so much from on top of the wheel well.

I think it will look damn good for a show car. But, you said that you wanted to keep it classy. That is far from classy. But, how many classy show cars do you see? You may want to look in to different colors. I vote "YES"

Aaron, of course you know I think you should do it...
those photoshops that Phil did look incredible, and the expy's paint job is beautiful!
Its cool that you're feeling the same vibe for you car as I did with mine, I can't wait till the day we park them side by side for a photoshoot

I voted yes... those flames are hot. Personally I'd go with the more subtle ghost flame look, however, those PS jobs that Phil2 did are pimp....
P.S. Funny how pretty much every post in here says do it... yet on the poll there are 30 "No's".... LOL... guess they didn't want to post.....

Why dont you paint the car a new fresh color, something totally different.... (was mchTypeS the only one who did that), and then put the flames on after that. That would be tight...alot of $$ though for a good job

Personally, I think the flames look decent, IMO. But I think that a more subtle flame would look nice on your car, even though it is a show car. Have you seen the bluish grey color flames on some darker colored Fords? You can't see the flames at night, and the flames look amazing during the day at certain angles...just my thought on a more subtle color scheme.
