paint discoloration (post-paint chip fix)

So I brought my Z in the other day to take care of the small chip (under the drivers door--the undersection). Anyways, it looked great at the time (it was rainy and cloudy). Today I was washing the car and noticed the spot where the chip was... the paint is slightly darker then the rest of the paint. The area is also rough. It's very small and not that noticable unless you look for it. Nevertheless, I'm pissed and I'm not sure what my options are at this point. Should I demand that entire section be repainted? I think they did some sort of airbrush job. I called the service manager today and he said he will call me on monday and find out exactly what the body ppl did. He said that it sopposed to look like that and "feel rough" it takes a few weeks or so for it to cure...then they put some compound or something and it will look fine. Is this guy full of shit, or is this legitimate? I honestly want to take the car to my own body shop now and have them redo that section.......and have nissan front the bill

your car is bound to get some chips. especially on the rocker panels.

i wont comment further until you post pics. but i don't see how a chip is a warranty item.

If the chip was the upon delivery, which is what it sounds like, then it is their responsibility to fix it...

Or am I missing something here???

yes, the chip was from delivery. I noticed it during the inspection of the car @ the time of purchase. That's why the dealer was taking care of this problem. I should have mentioned that.

so..... Should I demand that entire section be repainted?
I want to just take this to my own bodyshop now...
