opinions on exhaust for the 3.5?

so, i had my whole exhaust system picked out, and realized i'd be running 2.25" axlebacks. with the mid section being 2.5. does anyone think there would be realistic gains going from 2.25 to 2.5? yes or no answers are fine. i honestly think the 2.25 would be fine, but i'm just curious if others have anything else to say before i put the order through.

the bigger the diameter the better, less restrictive regardless of anyones comments. If bigger wasn't better, then track cars wouldn't run open exhaust. with open exhaust, no back pressure to speak of, duh, ..

Go Bigger, period.

if i was running a turbo, i wouldn't care about backpressure at all. i would run 3" all the way back. but keep in mind i am n/a and will more than likely remain that way. i do agree, bigger is better, but not always.

2.5 = less TQ, but slightly more HP, unless FI or spraying.

If you don't wanna spend all the money of custom fitting the RL exhaust. Try a remote adjustable exhaust cutout.

i might try to use the rl dual flow system, and just cut out the resonators and replace them with an x-pipe, and run a true dual from there. i'll have to order it next week. does anyone know the diameter of the rl cat?

thanks. i decided to run a simple and clean setup for now to make things easier. i'm still going to order the part, but i want to toss around a couple ideas. and to be honest, after all of this time, i don't want my car to be down simply because of an exhaust.

i'll do some runs on the dyno right after the build. then i'm going to play around with the exhaust / intake manifold. i have a few ideas.
