only 300 miles on my type s and im already abusing it
the car is only 1 week old and i know your suppose to let the car break in but i just couldn't resist it,being punked by my friend in his acura legend so many times when i use to have a 4 cylinder camry i just went all out today and just put mashed on the pedals hitting about 110 and left him in the dust,we went at it for a couple times,i can just hear the engine roar, but i think im going to baby the car from now on,anyone do this once they got there car or they babied it?
oh yeah i regret getting black also,it looks really nice cleaned, but i cleaned it for about 2 hours and drove it to my friends house 20 mins away and it was already dirty =X

I don't think the Acura police will come and take you away.
You can even take the car up to high rpms. They just don't want you stomping the pedal like crazy.
Here is another thought -- I hate to promote over-aggressive burn-ins, but...
Some folks will drive for 600 miles doing 30 miles per hour and others will driver 600 miles and vary the rpms, drive with out stomping the pedal, and will vary the load, speed, and constantly change the operation.
Varying the load and rpms is the best way to break the engine in (my opinion).
Honda had to take in account the fact that NOT all people were going to be driving at the exact same RPMS. So, someone who has been driving for 300 miles on the freeway at 2000 rpm, is not going to be as "broken-in" as someone who has had the car around 4500 rpm.
Just use common sense -- if you can't resist, what can you do -- it's your car. If you have Charles Manson after you, I would be sure to mash the pedal and try to escape.
Just vary the revs through the rest of the 600 miles, and enjoy your ride.
There are some people here, who just mashed the pedal from day one. I'm not one of them. I did sneak in a few high rpm runs during the first 600 miles, but I didn't mash the pedal -- EVER!
Enjoy your ride..

Unless you got a brand new car off the truck i bet the people who might have test driven it mashed the pedal down. I know a couple people whos parents own dealerships and they say as soon as people get behind the wheel they like to floor it to see what its made of.

No more scratches thanks to the dumbass who walked on my car and had to pay to have it repainted.

The worst thing to do to a new car..is drive and stay at the same RPMS.

I varied the first 600 miles and only hit VTEC maybe twice.
Only after I got to 600 miles did I start doing takeoffs that required depressing the pedal hard enough to squeal the tires at start.![](http://www.acura-cl.com/ubb/smile.gif)
I only STOMPED it at takeoff once, for a friend who wanted to see "what it's got".
