One headlight out and high beams gone at once.!
So I am going to the liquor store and I notice my lights seem dim. So i try the highbeams and they dont work. The daytime running lights work fine and so does every other lighting system. sooooo , When I arrive home and see my headlights on the garage and my drivers side is out. I checked the fuse for that side and surely it blows. I replace it with a spare. And it blows again.
I'm guessing this is a ballast :-( ?
But why the heck would I lose my high beams as well.
Or am I missing something ?
I also read this thread.
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-problems-fixes-117/low-beam-hid-blown-bulb-ballast-fuse-602619/
And if its just a ballast there is one locally for a bill and I think I may do what is said in that thread about the rubber seal to both sides when I remove bumper.
But aaaa, does anyone know why the whole high beam thing has occurred.

I'm a newb when it comes to acura CL, but it sounds like your high beam wire is shorting.
Is the ballast for low beam tied into the high beam lights on these cars? if so, that could be the issue. Otherwise I'd say there is a faulty wiring someplace. Done any work recently? It just seems to be too much of a coincidence for high beams not to work when your ballast went out for low beams.

Well it's the ballast boys.. Somehow it buggers up the high beams. Once I disconnected the ballasts to the hids, the high beams worked again.
Anyhoo I have already bought the hid kit locally cause I need to drive at night Monday and wanted to make sure everything was back in order. i wired everything and they up and it work again. So tomorrow they will be back in once the sealant I used has dried. And some crap got in the housing area so I need to vaccume that shit out. And I'm going to sand the headlights down one more time so they are mint when it's all back in place.
350 and 2 leisure days to fix this problem. Not very fun. But it's all going smoothly. And I saved lots of money versus going to the dealer. Getting one for the same price as 2 seal units with new bulbs... It's a no brained fellas.
