Okay who did I race last night
I was driving to my friends house last night towards MD along I95 crossing the willson bridge.
As I looked into my rear view mirror I saw a pair of HID's that looked some what familer so I thought ahh, probably another TL. As I was cruising under speed limit allowing the car to catch up I notieced the road lamp!
Oh yeah CL!! It was a silver CL but couldn't make out weather it was a type S or cl-p. I first down shifted to 2nd and took off. He tried to catch up and then it was on.
He then was gaining on me as I wasn't really pushing my car. he got right behind me and I was driving slow so I could make sure he could see my www.acura-cl.com licence plate frame. I gave him about 20 seconds to see and then I popped it in 2nd and just took off (thanx to the headers) I knew he was trying to catch up but there was simply no game. One thing I also noticed w/ the headers is that I can hold 2nd all the way up to 70mph vs.65mph w/o header.
Well anyways I smoke him and go up to about 120 and cool down because my navi girl said "in about 1/4 mile take next exit" . As I looked up on the on coming road it was just wide open 4 lanes w/ no traffic even tho I was tempted to just skip my exit i didn't. I then gave im the good old emergency flasher and pulled down my window and had my arm out waiting for him to pull.
He high beamed me acknowledging and then we gave each other a nod saying good race.
I know it was some one from this board. who is it??

Wasn't me 'cuz mine's a Red CLS. Great write up though.
I still haven't had the guts to let mine completely loose...too damn many cops on I-270. I'll usually toy around at about 80-90 mph, but 120 mph is an easy way to get arrested and have your car impounded.
I just noticed the other day they had a sign posted saying Aggressive/Reckless Driver Video Camera over on 495 near Silver Spring. I hope that it's just a sign and not for real. I'd hate to have the cops show up at my address with a huge ticket or hand cuffs ready.

I second that Steve is on top of his Shiiiit He did all my work except my tires and rims.
he even put in my CAI which is quite lovely I might add.

now if the guy just turned the highbeams on and started following you - that would be a FU.
For instance - the other week I was heading down 495 on a friday night and a GTI comes up on my left at about 75 wanting to race. So we both downshift and go - its close to about 100 when the girl I'm going to the club with starts freaking out - so I let up and let the guy go. He flash's the hazards, I flash the highbeams. No ill will. Just a "nice race."

after you cuz there's too many cars speeding.. It's a way to scare plp and
I guess in your case it has.. If you guys have a Radar Detector you shouldn't
worry about a damn thing.. Speed on is what i say, as long as you make
sure you're not endangering any other driver on the road. I haven't pushed
mine to 120 yet.. Can't find a clear enough road, maybe at nite.. I did got
120mph in a Dodge Neon once in Miami on I-95.. I breezed by 2 state troopers
and they didn't even try to follow me.. I guess i zipped so fast past them that
they didn't have a chance to see who I was... My bro is a detective now,
but he told me that when he use to work the beat the only cops that
bothered chasing down speeders where the ones trying to meet their
traffic citation quota.. It's waaayyy too much work to sift through tapes
of videos and take down plates.. Cuz they gotta run 24/7 if they are there.
The main reason is for cops to use to identify the real criminals that may
have paved roads on their highways.
...How much control do these headers give you with your ride? And these
damn breaks, any way of making the stickier without having to remove
the stock tires?

Words can not explain the results of the headers. A must if you are looking for more boost at vtec. but if you are fine w/ the speed I would suggest just the springs and sways to better help control the car.
