Is it OK having Jiffy Lube change my oil?
I called my dealer and they are booked up for a while. I need to get the oil changed becuase I'm pass due already. Do you guys ever run it into the local oil change shop, or should I really bring it into the Acura service shop? All the folks I've been smoking latley, my oils probably looking dirty. Haha...
Thanks!
Thanks!

I had my Legend's oil changed at a Quik-lube of Jiffy and then I drove about 10 miles and parked at a store. When I came out there was a huge pool of oil under the car, it was leaking bad.
They wouldn't come out and get it so I drove to a station and put some oil in it and drove, dripping back to the oil place. They blamed it on my plug threads being stripped. Funny it never leaked before. They miraculously fixed it right there! but I had oil all over my car from the leak. They probably just screwed the plug in wrong!
One other time I caught the guy about to pour non-Honda power steering fluid in, so I always stand and watch them if I take a car there.

If you take it to Jiffy Lube or somewhere that dosen't have a mechanic overseeing all the work done in the shop, I'd stick around and watch the guy do the oil change cause some fawkers just don't give a damn about the job they do.

Well, went and got it done last night. So far, so good. They really loved my car. They said "holy crap 6k miles and it's already got an intake!?" I said yep, and headers on the way. (we'll at least when Stone makes them for my 6)
I'd proably have those same guys do it again becuase they did a good job and loved the ride.

when jiffy lube changes your oil they dont replace the crush washer.........the crush washer is for a one time use only, they reuse the stripped crush washer, which can lead to leaks...............an accord v6 only went to jiffy lube..........long story short ,all the oil leaked out and locked up the engine, the car had like 25k miles on it , honda would not cover it..................................if you do go to the lube get a honda filter and the .5 cent washer

I did not know that. I wish I would have, then I could have asked. I was 2k over on the change and could not wait any longer. You know how that goes... The guy said to make sure I do it every 3k on a high perfomance engine.
