OK guys help me out to do my system..

Ok I really need my trunk space so I don't want to get a huge box that I will have to take out all the time. So I spoke to this guy at crutchfield and he recommended I install this:
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...ASSLIN&o=M&a=1

Is this shit or any good. I am not looking for earth shattering bass but a lot better than stock. And he recommended I install bass blockers for the stock bose speakers. Tell me what you guys think, or what I should do. I don't really know much about this..

Thanks Steve

Bass blockers? I'm not sure what he means. Sometimes you might put a 'cap' on a smaller speaker to cut the lower frequencies out to reduce distortion, but you would need a subwoofer for that. I've got a 12'' polk audio momo sub in a 1 cubic foot enclosure in the trunk. I didn't need any kind of 'cap' for the stock speakers, still sounds good with no distortion.

The enclosure in the trunk takes up about 1/2 of the trunk directly behind the seat which leaves me plenty of room for luggage etc... and it sounds awesome.

Screw Bass blockers, get new speakers, they are the weakest link in the system, you'll be glad.

Infinity is decent but it can't be that much smaller than just a single 8" JL in a box

blk cls, i had the same problem, so i changed my speakers...honestly, it sounds like a subs in the back with my 6*9's.

If you want, we could meet up so you could listen, i'm up for that if you want dude.

I put in Kenwood Excelons, they are 279 u.s. although Sterio 1 on highway 7 and keel has them for 300 dollars canadian, which is anAMAZING deal. And I conncted it to my AMP 600 watt amp that i had before.

lemme know if you wanna hear it...

That would be cool amir but, you don't get that deep bass do you?/

Didn't you use to have subs?

deep bass?...well, its not DEEP DEEP, but, if someone sat in the car, you could DEFINETLY tell them you have subs...and they would not doubt it at all..

After lots of research, and store to store, these speakers, have the most bass you can get from 6'9, there is nothing better for bass.

Personally, I think my setup is perfect for a lux. car...cause i am getting bass, keeping the car lighter, and having my trunk space.

If you do wanna meet up to listen, just lemme know when, even tonight if you want, before 10pm, its cool...

the average 6"9 speakers are only 120 bucks u.s.

these are 279 u.s. and the reason is the amazing abmount of bass coming out of 6"9's.

The factory amp is designed to run a 1 ohm speaker. Putting an aftermarket speaker with an nominal 4ohm impedence will drop the output volume by 6db(this is equivalent to halving the power output twice.) You will get better sound but not be able to drive it to a sufficient level. Try a search for details of my upgrade from the last 3 days...

Would the amplified 8" Bazzoka tube give a nice addition to the bass?

Here's the key you gotta go with Eclipse. I've had 2 systems with Eclipse not a bit of trouble with them. and you'll go to price em and say jeez that's kind of expensive. but you get what you pay for. I had my old accord(88 accord LX-i) with all eclipse (it hit like 8s people we're saying with 6 by 9s)
