sorry to hear about the accident, but honestly, i think in the long run, this is a good thing, you should be glad it happend. the evo does not seem to fit your personallity whatsover. the evo is the young rice-boy car of the moment. its the hopes and dreams of scores of young skinny high school punks. yeah, its a fast, awesome performing car, but its got no class whatsoever, while, you, beltfed, are an older gentleman, with class, with a mature lifestyle.

ive seen 1 older guy in an evo and honestly, he just looked silly. looked like he was trying to hard to fit in or be young or something. an old man in a car with a ricer wing and altezzas just doesnt look right. as fun as that car may be, it just doesnt seem to fit your demographic at all. the M3 on the other hand fits you MUCH more. i wouldnt worry about it. if youre looking for a car to sit along side of the M3, id look elsewhere than an evo.

you ever think of getting some kind of big beefy 4X4 to compliment your garage?? like a hummer or something? or even a nice brand new truck? you seem like a lot more of a 4X4 guy than an evo driver.

Hey Jer, so how do you feel about people with out-of-country licenses being allowed to drive on our streets like that new bill the Dems in California are trying to pass would allow to be legal?

My man, glad you're okay. Sorry to hear about the Evo! I hope for your sake it's totalled.

Did you sell the CLS and the Viper? I missed that.

Sorry to hear. Glad you're ok. BTW, if they try to fix the car let them know that you will promptly sell the car the day it comes back from the body shop to isolate the drop in value to this accident, and they'll be responsible for the depreciation. That combined with the cost to repair and they may just total it out. YMMV

Sorry to hear that.

If the insurance company doesn't total it, may be it's worth a try going to the lawyers. I am sure they'll know what to do.

Very much appreciate the comments......have not idea what the outcome will be but the car is either getting totalled or its being fixed and promptly sold.

You guys are cool, keep up the good work.

Did the kid realize he just hit an EVO?!? If I were him, I would have been freakin' out about messin' up your ride (after I made sure everyone was okay, of course)!

Maybe now you can buy that M1A1 Abrahms. I know the gas mileage is pretty bad, as well as the 0-60, but they are pretty much kid-proof.

I developed the regular photos today, the damage sucks.....but I have a feeling this one is not going to be that easy to have totalled.

We'll see, but not getting my hopes up on this one.

After the fact....I do know that accidents happen but I still want to ram an ice pick through that kids head for being so fucking stupid.

Thanks for the continued replies, doesn't go unnoticed.

Damn bro, sorry to hear that. but Jim is right, it didn't match your personality to me either.
BTW, same exact thing happened to me. Except I was on a bike. this kid was in the center lane, I was in the left lane right next to him. we go through an intersection side by side and at the last minute he decides to make a left. bike went under the car as he floored it, I went over the hood, bouned off the wind shield as he finally braked and smashed my lower back on the curb. Some exchange student. no ins, no licence. he left the scene to get his girlfriend to translate I was working at the time, and the company just let everything go.:swear2: after 6 years, my back is still not the same.

Some scanned photos......look a little dark (but you get the idea).

Judging by the exterior, its not a total (we'll see what happens with the frame).

Took pics down...........

Such a pretty car all fucked up......White is/was a great color choice.

Again I hope they total it out for you. Me personally I'd get an FX45 to compliment the Evo. Best in Vert Performance (in price range) and best in an SUV crossover.

And I loved the ice pick comment. Very original

This would be hard to total. The car is worth right now about 27K, per say, it's not even close to that much damage. Good luck to you man, I think it will work out.

One thing if you both have Allstate, then Allstate covers the deductable.

The same thing happened with my mother, she got into an accident with another Allstate customer and they covered the dedutable so she didn't have to pay a thing.

As Mr. Beltfed said, I think it depends on the frame and other components under the doors/panels.

I hope for you (Beltfed) they do total it. As we all know, a wrecked & fixed car is never exactly the same again, not to mention the depreciation hit on this new/unique car.

The insurance companies contend that a repaired car with clean title is no more depreciated then it's non-wrecked-and-fixed counterpart. While I'd agree this is true with a minor fender bender where the bumper liners or a plastic lens is replaced, I don't think the same is true when major body work is performed.

I wish you the best of luck with this situation.

Not True...

If you bring it to the right body shop and and theres enough "frame damage" and undercarrage damage you'd be surprised how fast those costs go up. If the frame is twisted at all the car will never be the same, could even be considered no longer safe to drive.

Man that bites! Not something I would want to have repaired at all. Take it to a Ferrari dealer or something for an estimate. That's one of those "never the same again" hits. Looks like a lot of stuff is bent that can't be un-bolted and replaced. Guess you could always trade it in after it's fixed. Great color for that car!

joke......man.....it's a joke....ferrari's are expensive to work on, they chargeg alot, they'd charged Beltfed alot and thus insurance would have to total the car?

Why so surprised? Body shops that work on exotic cars have some of the best techs you'll find. They charge more and have long waits to get in but their work is top notch. I used a shop in Chicago that specialized in Porsche's, Ferrari's, and M-B's. They were the only body shop in the Midwest certified by Audi to work on the A8. The shop looked like a hospital and was so clean you could eat off the floor. The three times I had to use them the cars came out better than they went in because you got a full detail so they could make sure the paint matched in both color, depth and consistency. I'd only take my car to a high-end shop.

That's true...go to a high end body shop that either does work for luxury or exotics. When my GSR was dented, I took it to one that did all the luxury vehicles (part of the dealership conglomerate in the area) that specialized in Jaguar, Audi, Porsche etc as well as Acura and Lexus. They did great work and the paint matched very well. One area did bubble up because of some possible dirt or finger print mark under the paint, but they fixed that when I found it (even though it was over a year after and started to raise and crack). But I've seen some paint work done by others that were just horrible!
