NYC Insurance sucks!!
I am trying to pick up an 03 CLS from a dealer and they say I can't insure my car under my parent's policy if I finance with them I've always done that and it saves me a lot of money. Can anyone suggest a decent agency in the NYC area? I 'm 2 months short of three years on my license...I know

Yeah I think I have no choice but to do that. Now I just have to convince them to co-sign on the finance agreement. I don't need their credit, mine is fine but the finance company has to ok it and they won't without a co-sign. They know I have sufficient funds, etc but they can be really anal sometimes

I've always done that. even though the car is in my name I put the insurance under my parents name(usually my mom). Then I'm one of the "co-drivers" then my insurance is cheaper. I've done that since I was like 17.
I got Grange Insurance BTW.
They are pretty good.
here's a little way to to play "hardball" with them. get a Post Office box outside of NYC. play their "little game" of letting them "think" you live outside of NYC have your bills shipped there but continue to live where your at. technically they can't do anything(like cancel your policy).
I hate when companies have no reason to screw with me.Usually I screw them back
