i purchased this one about a month ago.. http://store.autotoys.com/cgi-bin/wfp53024.storefront . this should do me okay, right? the one on the picture is transparent like what you have. the one i have has a black casing. but according to autotoys, it's the same thing, just different
plastic housing. i'd rather not put the perimeter sensor because there's this old man who always parks next to me and i'm sure he'll be pissed if this thing constantly goes off. he's pretty carefull about parking and opening his doors. i think the shock sensor would be sufficient. if you can do it before the meet, let me know....i'm usually home by 4:30 or i can meet you. can't do it on wednesdays cuz i have to bring my girlfriend to school. if not, during the meet would be cool as well. thanks man!!!

Which sensor would you recommend for which applications?

Is there a way to deactive the proxy sensor when you want? I don't need to use at the house, and the family parks pretty close to each other and I don't want it going off all the time

the only way to do it is instant trigger. If you do that, you give your car the risk of getting keyed cuz if some punk kid just happens to walk closed to your car then your horn goes off. Man ... god knows what he's gonna do to your car.
If I was to put in the motion sensor, I would build an external ciruit that would trigger the "system ready" buzzer. That way your car will give the warning and not pisses off ppl. Good luck.

Nova,
I think the one autotoys sent me is not that great! I have the one with the black casing (ALA95) and it sucks!
The sensor works but it is not sensitive at all! I have to be in the car and pound on the dash for it to trigger the alarm. I can't get it to trigger when I knock against the windshield.
Any ideas on how to make it more sensitive? I already set it to max sensitivity. (ie both leds will light up when I tap on the sensor).

Nova,
thanks man.
The sensor sucks but I hope that it will trigger when needed. It may be that when testing it, I am not using as much force as a actual break-in would entail.
Definately take them off your instructions. I bought it from them as I wanted to follow your instructions to a T and then they sent me that useless junk.
