NJ Auto Insurance Sucks!!
So, I get my renewal info in the mail last night, and my premium has gone up AGAIN! Mind you that I turned 25 a few months ago - thinking that auto insurance is supposed to go down when you get older. I called my isurance rep 2 weeks ago and she told me that it would go down to $2,100 from $2,400 since I turned 25. Called her this morning asking her why it went up to $2,500 and she said that the rating on the CL changed, and nj rate went up across the board and that's why I paying $2,500.
I've got Liberty Mutual and I've got no accidents or tickets, and my deductibles are $500.
Does anyone know of any other insurance companies that might be able to give me a better rate?
Sorry...just a little pissed off about this.
Thanks!

That's strange .. I have a 2001 CL .. and I'm paying $1650 per YEAR for FULL coverage - 100/300 .. whatever you need on a lease. I'm 32 and married .. maybe that makes a difference, who knows. But she's not on the policy, and neither is her can, it's ONLY my car -- and I'm also with Liberty Mutual.

Yeah, I've heard that NJ Manufactures have great auto insurance rates, but I'm not eligible to apply for insurance through them since my employer is not part of NJBIA.
I can't even imagine how much a 25yr old with an accident or a ticket is paying for insurance in NJ.

ShawnS,
In response to your post "NJ is expensive because nobody that lives there knows how to drive properly. " I hate to say but I gree with you. Just about every time I'm on the Pennsylvania turnpike I'm tailgated by someone with NJ plates and they swerve into tight places in traffic that I would never change lanes into. Not to mention never using a turn signal!
Also, I almost got run off the road in Florida (driving a rental car) by a car from NJ (on I-4). I was in the fast lane during thick traffic (no room to change lanes) and a Lincoln from NJ pushed its way over to get around a tractor trailer in the slow lane--I had to either put on the brakes or be pushed into the median. I'd never seen anything like that.
I used to think Maryland drivers were bad but NJ takes the cake.

I am lucky I got NJM, they won't let anybody if you had traffic tickets (even if you went to court and were found not guily). They simply want a clean record for 3 years.
Once you get in, you can get points and they will not raise your primiums!!!
26 years old, living in NJ, paying $1500 per year with $500 deductables is the best deal I could find!!! should I had a 4 door TL it would be 150-200 cheaper!
I also have LoJack, I get like 50-100 discount each year for that as well. I also park on the street, would be even better if I had a house

I consistently see people on my way home from work driving in the right hand only lanes and then signaling to move over and cut people off when the get to the intersection and go straight ...
Maybe its just cuz I'm used to the bad drivers in NJ, but I think that the DC Metro area is much worse in terms of drivers ... ESPECIALLY when it snows or rains out!

ahh I'm a NJ boy,26 now living in CA bay area. Bought my CLS a few weeks ago and got the bill today. The cost? $622/6 months and that with $100,000 per person and $300,000 property with $250 deductable all around. Of we pay for my wife's Honda CRV, and our house policy all with Mecury insurance.
Everything in CA is more expensive, except property tax and car ins. Of course next year if they don't roll back the reg fees, it'll be $600+ to re-register.
I miss NJ..but not he ins rates. Damn assigned risk pools.
