Nice run with a 1997 BMW 540i/6 Dinan
Had a nice run with a 1997 BMW 540i/6 Dinan Signature Vehicle S tonight.
I was at the red light and this BMW comes to a quick stop just before the light went green and quickly jumps on it. Caught me a little off guard. Anyway, he got about 1/2 a car on me and I was starting to spin in 1st. Went into 2nd and stayed with him. After about 5500 in 2nd, I started to close the gap. When I shifted into 3rd at 7100, we were even and it remained that way until I got up to about 5600 RPM. We back off at the same time where I had already pulled about 1 1/2 cars on him.
When we came to a stop at a light we chatted briefly before the light changed. He said it was a 1997 but was a little sheepish about what mods he had. But that BMW sure looked sweet. We nodded and went our separate ways.

Nice Run! Dinan Signature S cars are typically just suspension, CAI, Exhaust and reprogram of ECU. Those cars typically put down about 260 to 270 RWHP. The "balls out" Dinan5 with SC, put down about 370 to 390 RWHP.

im confused as to what the b-pipe is...I've heard its the cat-back piping (i.e. from the cat to the mufflers), and I've heard its the downpipe from the header...etc etc. Some1 help me out. Basically, if you get a cat-back exhaust, does that mean its a b-pipe + mufflers?
