News about RSX, TSX, TL, CL, RL, NSX!!!

ACURA
RSX: A reskin comes for the 2004 model year, followed by a redesign for 2006.
TSX: Acura wants a less expensive sedan to position below the TL. The smaller Accord sold in Japan and Europe may be imported and rebadged as the Acura TSX for the 2004 model year.
CL: If the CL survives, which is by no means certain, a redesign would be targeted for the 2006 model year.
TL: The long-standing rumor of a rear-wheel-drive BMW 3-series fighter is just talk. The TL will continue on the Accord's front-wheel-drive platform when it is restyled and re-engineered for the 2004 model year. All-wheel drive might be offered. To give it more distance from the Accord, engine displacement gets a bump to 3.4 liters with about 280 hp.
RL: Forget the talk about a rear-drive V-8 flagship. Acura's top Japanese and American executives say the audience for rwd is too small, and they have no intention of producing a V-8. The redesigned 2004 RL likely will be fwd or awd and powered by a 3.8-liter V-6 mated to a five-speed automatic.
NSX: Honda believes the two-passenger, mid-engine sports car can remain competitive with minor tweaks over the coming years.
MDX: The sport wagon will be restyled and re-engineered for the 2006 model year. A 3.8-liter V-6 is expected.

Check out these 2 other tidbits from the same article:
350Z: The legendary "Z" name returns to the Nissan lineup with the introduction of the 350Z. The coupe bows this fall followed by the roadster in February. The car features a 287-hp 3.5-liter V-6; but Nissan engineers say there is a lot more potential in the engine. A 300-plus-hp model may be introduced for the 2006 model year.
GT-R: While Nissan has said that it wants to turn the GT-R concept, a four-passenger coupe, into a production vehicle and market it in the United States, designers here dislike the styling direction the automaker is taking. Also, Nissan still has to make a business case for selling the vehicle outside Japan. If it is given the green light for the U.S. market, it will come with a price that could top $60,000. The earliest would be the 2006 model year.

According to MotorTrend, the NSX is to be residigned in the 2004 model year (meaning it will be here in 2003).
The same for the TL. They also confirm "more power".
There is nothing for the 2005 model year for Acura accordning to the mag. Same for the 2006 model year. I guess they have no info.

bah... they dont know dick.
that sounds like year old information... better yet, year old speculation.
i wouldnt rely on much they say.
the CL, if it survives, WILL get a re-skin before a potential 2006 redesign.
but i would bank on Honda, if they keep it alive, redesigning the car a bit earlier then typical. Especially if the netx TL is a big improvement.
They really dont know dick more then us.

Honestly, I don't think they will get rid of the CL anytime soon. I just saw the commercial for the "new 6speed CL-S" on tv and I just don't see why they would spend money to advertise on a product that they are going to kill. Also, it appears alot of companies are coming out with new coupes in the next 2 years so Honda/Acura should really consider making the CL into something more "bad-ass" than it already is! This is JMO though.

man if the tl is goin to be 280 i hope for acuras sake they make the cl ofcourse if it survives, a 300hp rwd or awd monster. that would be phat as hell. Just make sure the car has real fogs and a subwoofer and a kick ass radio that has over 200 watts. The standard lex radio has over 200 and its unbelievable what it does, it even gets louder if it hears outside discractions like a motorcycle, then lowers itself when the noise is gone. Now thats a system, plus it has a sub.

i want a sub in my cl-s
