New Tranny and Motor Mounts *MUST READ*
For all the ones that have had bad experiences with the Tranny, welcome to the club. This is my 2nd time getting my tranny replaced and thank god for the extended warranty.
Some people on this forum have had the tranny replaced 4-5 times, which is aweful.
Anyways.. i'll get to the point. My Acura dealership says I had 2 broken motor mounts, 1 small one on the passenger side and the big one in front (or back, not too sure)... They wanted to charge me $310 to change them!!! I told them that this should be covered by Acura since motor mounts shouldn't break soo easily and that they probably got damaged due to the bad tranny creating pressure on them...
Conclusion: Acura dealership gave me the finger. They didn't want to hear anything. So I had to call Acura Customer Relations and finally got them to wave the $310. Didn't even have to yell or anything. They though my reasonning was completely normal and that the dealership should of known better... Oh my..
Moral of the story: Dealerships are full of it. Don't buy their crap and always remain skeptical.

Wow, nice info to have. I'm actually really surprised at the outcome. I wish I knew this when my tranny went so maybe I could've had them replace mine, though I haven't noticed any problems with the mounts as of yet.

Hm, the Acura dealership here in New Jersey replaced the motor mounts free of charge along with the transmission. They said it was covered because of the stress caused by the tranny etc. Anyway, I guess all dealerships are different.

Actually now I'm wondering if maybe they did replace my motor mounts when they did my tranny. Hmm... any way to find out if they're replacements just by looking?

I may have gotten jacked...When I last had my tranny replaced (90,000 miles) I had 2 motor mounts and a tranny mount busted. They covered the tranny mount as related, but charged me for both motor mounts as wear and tear items. I am calling tomorrow to hopefully get the money refunded. I will update tomorrow with results.

I did call yesterday to Acura Customer Relations and spoke about the paid mounts in the past. Total of 3 motor mounts and 1 tranny mount. After speaking with 2 people, I got setup with a regional rep and sent through my invoices. "Expect to hear from the rep within 2 business days" she says, she thinks I will get the money back but isn't the one cutting the check. Waiting...

I'm on my FOURTH TRANNY and have had the motor MOUNTS REPLACED THREE TIMES now....It's been free of charge every time.....but prolly just cause my fams bought 4 from this dealer.....they best be nice
Either way though, with a track record for P.O.S. trannies like the CL has, you should just start throwing stuff around the showroom floor til they do it for free!

I finally heard back from Acura CS about my past mounts being covered.
Background story -> When my car had the 3rd tranny put in, I paid for 1 front and 1 side motor mount. Near $500 dollars. Less than 2 months later, driving home on the highway I am behind a large medium size u-haul type truck, and he poops out a large dirt/ice chunk. There was not time nor space to dodge the chunk, so I did the best thing I could and rolled over it between the tires. The chunk didn't look that big, enough clearance right? Wrong. Only physical damage I could see was the hole through the passenger front floor. According to the body shop only other non-cosmetic damage was a pinched fuel line, oh and 4 (FOUR) broken mounts!
Same front and side motor mounts that had been replaced were again broken, along with the rear motor mount and a tranny mount.
Acura covered the front and side motor mounts under new part warranty ($500), but refused to cover the rear motor and tranny mount. I pay for those somewhere around $300. So roughly a total of $800 I am trying to get back from Acura. Acura CS rep stated they cannot reimburse me for the costs. This is because "the 4 broken mounts were due to the accident" he says. "If this is the case, why did they warranty 2 of the mounts?" I ask. The rep says because they were new parts, but I think that this shows new mounts are just as susceptable to fail as old ones, and they want you to pay for all mount replacements at least once. I tell him don't you think that a known faulty transmission with direct physical correlation to drivetrain and engine components could put increased stress on those other components including mounts? Don't you think that a transmission that has locked people up while in traffic and tends to jerk the whole car at times during normal driving stresses and wears other components like mounts? He tells me no because I did not have an internal transmission failure...well I did the first time when I got the front and side mounts replaced, so why then were they not covered initially? Even if (supposedly) engine mounts aren't related to transmission failure, how can tranny mounts not be related to the failure? I tell him I am willing to send him the body shop paper work to confirm the mounts were not accident related, he says that isn't necessary, he has spoken. So he just talks circles, contradicts himself, and ends every third sentence with "Acura cannot cover the request at this time". I could tell over the phone he was sweating balls talking to me.
So no go for now, although I am going to address his supervisor next week about how this was handled, and the potential of losing a 3 time Acura customer. My insurance agreed to cover the $500 for the f/s motor mounts, but I am still out $300 in the long run. If no resolution, I will have to re-open the insurance claim and request reimbursement for the rest. Don't ask why I didn't include the $300 when handling the other $500 with insurance. It slipped my mind at the time I was so happy just to get my car back.
Thoughts/opinions?

Broken engine mounts
I hv a 01 3.2CL, had the 60k servicing done yesterday. Then got the shock. The dealer demo that the front engine and the passenger side engine mounts were broken, and handed me the quote (~$500).
My transmission hasn't given me any problems yet, but are the engine mounts supposed to wear out that easy? I did call Acura, but they would only change the mounts (free) in case the transmission fails. So hv to be involved in a transmission failure (which can be one of the many reasons for broken engine mounts) to get things fixed. Besides that the new mounts would hv a 1 yr/12000 miles warranty.

Hey my CL is going in tomorrow for its third trans. I have two broken motor mounts, and got quoted $400 from the dealer. I called that number and they said the trans warranty only covers trans and torque converter, not the mounts. Any ideas?
