New Springs!!! Few ?

OK - got the springs done yesterday. Car looks excellent! Car rides excellent. However, if the car hits a bump there is a noise from the corresponding spring(I think). Kind of a metal ping??? I told mechanic to reuse all parts - which he did. Will this fade as the car settles??? Solutions?

Thanks

he didnt put the rubber sleeve on the front springs that were on the stock springs....i had my installation guy make sure to put the rubber sleeves on the the front springs near the top where the coils are tighter, and i have never heard a pinging noise over any bump....you can put the sleeves on yourself if you take off your wheels

He told me he reused all the parts. The comptechs came with rubber on certain areas of the springs. I will check later today to see what if anything remains on the stock springs. Kind of annoying sound for a brand new car...

Don't blame the car... if you didn't install aftermarket springs it would still be quiet.

Do like dbox and jimcol said... double check everything....

Actually, I was not blaming the car, I was simply stating that I just spent a whole bunch of money for a new car which now makes an annoying noise b/c of the mod.

I know... I was just messing with you.

The good thing is that you know what's causing the problem... something to do with the springs. Make sure you bring it back to thy guy or place that did the install and have them double check every single thing.....

I hear ya'. Just real particular about my car - as are all the people here. Always want things done properly - especially when I pay for it... Now trying to determine the next mod???

if this helps...
i only heard the noise when going over a speed bump. the part they broke was like 20$ to fix and they did it in 10 minutes. at first they said it was the h&r springs and that they were to low and the back springs wouldnt seal properly. seeing that the back of my car was lower than the front i then bought a pro kit. well after spending almost 400 on just damn springs when they took off the h&RS to install the eibachs...they caught the problem. so i bought two sets for nothing. i now have an eibach back and a h&r front for a perfect drop
bad shit always happens to me

This seems to be from all springs depending upon the bump - even seems to happen getting out of driveway - not just rear. But car is going back to shop in about 2 weeks for him to check install so I will then get any rubber installed on upper springs as needed.
