The new SL 500 is amazing!!!!!
My dad traded his 2002 SL 500 for a new one....all I can say is what a difference a year makes. The new one parked next to the old one puts it in perspective. The most amazing thing is that the retractable hard goes down in less that 10 seconds!!! I've got to Zaino it this weekend, then I'll post some pics!!! I'm trying to talk him into some nice new wheels and some window tint....I've just got to find pics to convince him!!!

sweet ride, working at a benz dealer i get to admire them all day.......but unfortanately i also see the problems, so far the new sl is good, changed a couple of tire psi monitor modules - quirky system seems to deactivate at will, and is a pain to reactivate, but other than that, nice ride, well built - tell him good luck with it
is it a sport, designo ?
i'm waiting for the SL65, and the SLR to come in

If the family has that kind of coin available, he should get some cheap piece of SHIT to use as a beater.
You know, like a Porsche Cayenne Turbo or Cadillac Escalade

Amazingly, the Cayenne Turbo actually bases at more than the SL500.....add a few options and you get into the $93-$95k territory real quick.
Cayenne is one expensive SUV, tad overpriced.
Black SLs with the Sport package look real good.

I’m not well versed on the specs of vehicles in this price range.

Nicky Pass...how far are you from Fox Valley Motorcars? I live in St. Charles, which is about 5 minutes from there, and my room mate works there! Maybe we could hook up sometime

Is that remote start where you just have to have the "key" on you and then just tap the top of the shifter an option or does it come standard on all SL's?

only idiots pay a markup on a car that's not limited production and has been around for over a year.

My oldman had one on order about a year ago and was called 6 months to put the car in at MSRP. The dealer at that point had no SL55s on order besides the one. Anyway, he ended up cancelling.....lost interest.

They are actually not that hard to come by these days at MSRP, even in stock SL55s (ordering isn't even a question).
