The service guy said there a a screw rubbing a hole into my radiator. I didn't ask him to show me because I thought he wouldnt. I should have asked anyways. But he said the car might have had some front end damage in the past and that is what is causing it. I see dried up coolant on the left fan, on some hoses, ontop of the radiator by some screws holding it up, well its pretty much scattered all over.

Would it be a good idea for me to buy some egnine bright and spray it to clean the engine bay. Then look to see if I can get a better location for the leak. Do I have to worry about getting anything wet? Most of the electricals look covered.

yeah.
remove the splash shield under the front of the car. (Although you DO NOT have to, just makes it easier.)
drain rad.
remove upper and lower rad hoses
remove 2 upper rubber rad supports...

pull the rad staight up & out.. remove fan shrouds.

replace rad, reconnect, refill, bleed the system.

Should take you about 1 hour or less.

take your time.. and if you get stuck, just ask.

you can try e-bay.. radiators.com

search around.... I never had to purchase a radaitor yet.... I would PM Essarak Hout, he got an Integra Spoon Radiator or something off e-bay and he was suppose to tell me if he got it to work... I never heard back from him.

Try a private radiator shop. Let us know what they charge.

BTW, Acura Carland has radiators for 250.00 on their website. If it only takes an hour to insatll accoring to one poster, you could farm out the labor and still save $400.

Yeah, installing and removing a radiator is probably one of the more straightforward things you can do. It's very simple. Drain it, unbolt it from the frame, disconnect the harnesses, take off the hoses. Pull it out, take the fans off, put fans on new radiator, bolt back into the frame, reconnect harnesses, clamp hoses back on and add coolant. Easy.

The black screw like things holding the splash shield, how do you remove it? Do you just pop them out? I want to make sure before I go to town on it.

flat head screwdriver.... pop the middle out... then pull the rest of the pin out...Once you get 1 out you will see how they function.

Awww man. Ok. Right above the drain plug to the left a bit if you are infront of the car. There is a connector piece. I know you havent had to change yr radiator yet but this piece is the only thing connecting the radiator now. I have removed everything. But I can't get this piece off. Would you happen to know how this is removed?

Thank You. It's out. Just read my invoice. It say's "Found condensor rubbing hole in radiator". The guy told me screw but this say's condensor. What does the condensor look like? Want to take a look at the condensor before putting the new one radiator in to make sure it doesnt do the same thing.

I know what the condensor is. Now, I looked at the condensorto see if there was any way it could have been rubbing against the radiator. I also looked at the radiator to see where it was punctured. But i saw nothing.

My qquestion is does the factory warranty cover a faulty radiator. It was leakingat the bottom where the fins meet the plastic. I think this ass hole lied to me so that I would have to pay for it. There is no way the condensor could rub a hole in the radiator. Am I talking crazy or does it make any bit of sense?

Go to a radiator shop and have them pressure test your radiator. If you have a leak it should show up. Also they may be able to repair your current radiator for a couple hundred dollars if it does have a leak.

Sure it is, a radiator isn't a wear and tear item. Call shenanigans on the Acura dealership

I dunno about that one...every dealer can list what a so-called "wear and tear item is to them"... and if something on the car rubbed a hole into the radiator the circumstances of the part can change.... everyrone knows how some dealerships act around performance parts installed on cars and we might of only heard part of the story... so you never know.. each situation is different... lucky I have a cool dealership that will give me the parts I need just as long as I give them back the defective part in a timely fashion..

There is no other part to the story. I removed the radiator and I dont see any rubbing anywhere. It is leaking at the bottom of the radiator where the "fins" meet the plastic.

But i guess its too late now. I have already removed the radiator. I will try to call Acura and see if they can refund me my $178 i paid for the radiator.

take it to a radiator shop. they will pressure test it. it probably is leaking at the seam. i don't know how the warrany goes with radiator maintenance. but if you have all the correct products,ie:correct coolant ect, i think acura should pay for it.

BIG BIG BIG Problem. I can't believe I missed this. They sent me the wrong radiator. All the fluid is leaking from the bottom where there is an opening. I looked at the opening on the old radiator but it is blocked off. What is this hole. Is there anything I can use to block it off temporarily? I am thinking they sent me a radiator for the Type S.

Someone please help.

From a nonmechanic. Is it the drain plug opening? Maybe they left the plug out and you can use the old one. Just a guess! Good Luck!

No it is not the drain plug opening. I already plugged that up. But on the bottom plastic part there is another opening there and thats where all the liquid is coming from. This sucks. The place is closed I dont know what i can use to plug it up. Just frustrating i tell you.

A search on that parts site show the CL-S and CL radiator to be the same part. Acura Carland also has the same parts number on each radiator. Can you describe the leak in more detail. Could be a BAD, defective radiator.

This is not a leak on the new radiator. This is an opening at the bottom. It looks as if something screws in there. It is not the drain plug! I thought it might be a radiator for a Type S. But since they both have the same part # i think they sent me a radiator for a totally different car.

Hey sorry guys. Yeah the outcome is www.autoparts.com sent the wrong radiator. So they sent me a new radiator that was the correct one. He said the cl has a base and another model(not type s). But it didnt ask that when I ordered. But everything is working fine now.

The bracket the holds the condensor in place was not bolted on so it punctured the old radiator. I got that fixed then put in the new one.

Thanks for your help guys. You helped me save damn near 650 dollars.
