Hey everyone, wanted to give some mod updates. Paul in Clifton has been busy! First, he installed the new Tein Flex Z's, new OEM 04 TL rims with Kumho Ecsta tires, and Progress rear sway bar. Here are some pics of the stance. More updates to come....RL calipers, total brake upgrade, Pioneer dash unit, etc...
its a really great lookin car!
do you daily it?
is it garaged?
Thanks I appreciate it! I'm an Acura CL-S O.G. Got my original one in 2005. Eventually parted with it and life happened. Couldn't live without a CL so I grabbed one that looks as close to my original one as possible and been slowly modding and restoring. Plan to keep forever as weekend car. Actually my avatar pic is my original CL.
Nah, I never drive this one lol. Its garage kept in a climate controlled car storage facility next to a Vette and a Ferrari It actually is in desperate need of a paint job though, I just showed you the good side in the pics lol.
Paul then installed the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX with back-up cam. What I love most about this unit is how sleek it looks, without any actual buttons that stick out. Sits perfectly flat and just a screen, very minimalist look compared to some of the older models.
Zeta, not sure what I'm looking at there. I see some buttons where the pop-out storage tray is located. Any further pics + explanation?
That is an example of an automatic CL-S that has had its driver's side footwell emergency brake functionality converted to the center console set-up of a CL-S six speed.
IMHO, this is how the 2003 automatic CL-S' should have come from the factory that year the manuals were in production.

Unless you're like me and enjoy fidgeting with the cup holder door button. It's just too much fun pushing the button, then closing the door, then pushing the button, then closing, push, close, push, close...
I do prefer that handbrake though.
Rebuilt and painted RL calipers, performance pads, stainless steel brake lines, and drilled/slotted rotors. And painted rear OEM calipers gloss black.
How did you paint it so neatly? I had a hell of a time with the letters, masking tape, and an exacto knife. They turned out a little messy. Yours came out really nice.

I didn't do any of this myself. I sent it to someone who does it professionally. Look up WerdWerx garage on Facebook. Here is a basic guide of what I did for anyone looking to do this mod (unless your looking to DIY)...
Identified who I wanted to do the caliper rebuild and painting (WerdWerx garage, Daniel Hill, located in Yorba Linda, CA)
Found a set of used RL calipers on eBay, purchased them, and had them mail to WerdWerx
Purchased the caliper rebuild set, brackets, rotors, etc. on FatFourCustoms. Arranged for FatFour to send the rebuild kit to WerdWerx.
WerdWerx completed the rebuild and repainting according to the color I chose and then mailed them back to me
I brought them to my local guy, former Acura mechanic Paul in Clifton for the install
uhhh, so you're a project manager. i see where the $$ comes from now.
LOL! I was on this site since 2005 (with my original profile, hence why I called myself a CL O.G.!) when I was in college working 3 jobs to afford my CL-S, watching everyone else do the mods I couldn't afford. Now I'm 34, repurchased a CL-S, and can finally do the mods I've always wanted to do. I am not mechanically inclined, so its cheaper in the long run to just pay someone who knows what they're doing rather than me screwing it up and paying three times that much to fix it haha. Plus I live in an apartment and have nowhere to work on a car even if I wanted to. So yes, doing this mod was sort of like managing a project! Hope it inspires some of you to do it!

Literally described me and my motor situation. I like to think of it as paying for a learning experience, lol. At least I'll have the chance to tear down and rebuild a motor. Looking forward to doing that. But my wallet is really hurting .

I'm glad the apartments I'm at don't care. Hopefully they won't say anything about the oil stained parking spaces after I move at the end of this month. Only people to say anything about me working on my car is the security that rolls around, but even he's cool with me. He chats me up, and goes on about his business as I'm under my car. I've waved at the apartment manager several times as I'm elbow deep under the hood as well.
I seriously can't wait for this garage.
But I'll check out this Werdwerx after I fix my motor situation. My calipers look decent. I used some professional type paint that you only have an hour to use before it dries for good. The letters... Well there's some run on it. But for a DIY, I'm still happy with it. But their work looks superb.

Good luck with the motor build!! Glad you have a more lenient situation. At my place your not even supposed to clean your car in the parking lot lol.

You'd think apartments would appreciate their parking lots getting soaked with soap and water, cleaning them. I know mine sure will when I move, kekw .
