New Member saying Hi

I am a new member and wanted to say hi to everyone. I am seriously considering the purchase of a 2003 cl-s with m/t. I would be interested in finding out what maintenance / reliability issues there are with this car. Also, what things should I watch out for when selecting a car (other than general issues applicable to all cars) Thanks alot!

- Jay.

Welcome to the board. The biggest problem with the CL/TL is the transmission unless you have a M/T, so that is a very good choice.

I recommend 6 speed only. Great cars. I've had 2 6 speeds and only repair was a leaky headlight. and the first one had brake problems with the rotors worn unevenly, fixed under warranty. My current 6 speed has had no brake problems.
good luck. What colors you considering? Navi will be harder to find.

Welcome....

I bought my CLS 6spd after doing reseach here for a couple of months. There aren't any major issues with the 6spds. Brake issues (warped rotors), sunroof squeak, and the water pump and belt tensioners recalls will probably already be fixed if you're buying used.

The only major issue with teh CLS has been with the automatic transmissions, which you won't have to worry about if you're getting the 6spd.

Welcome to the board.

I prefer the auto myself. however if you are going to go for a 6pd try and find one with Navi, may be hard b/c that combo is so rare, but you'll be happy with it.

Also Navi doesn't hold it's $2k value at all once there back on the market so thats even more of an insentive to try and find one with the Navi option.
