New Member with Questions
I came across this site while reasearching a new car purchase. It seems that the CL has a huge following, which is great.
In the end, I decided on a standard '03 CL, but have a few questions.
I want to modify the car, but not sure where to start. This will be the first car that I make any changes to. So far, I have only driven and owned stock-version cars.
What should be done first?
- Intake
- Unichip
- CAI
- Pulleys
- Other ideas?
Anyway, I am sure this question gets asked a lot, but I figured I would throw it out there and see what you all think.
Thanks,
Aaron

Like fuzzy said, depends on what you are going for...handling, speed, looks etc...and how much $$ you want to spend.
Personally, I would do the comptech drop first, then intake and headers.

I've said it before, and I'll tell you too .... if I could do it again I'd improve the handling first after getting the intake (the sound is so intoxicating ). The car is pretty quick stock.. but the handling is a little floaty... especially on the CL-P.
The order I'd go is:
* Intake - the sound is sweet.. and the 5-7hp isn't bad either
* Springs - get rid of the float
* Rims/Tires - or just tires... either way, get rid of the stock rubber
* Sways - now that your lower and have better rubber.. get rid of * lean for good
* Headers - on the CL-P you'll only gain about 15-18 hp.. but still not bad
* Exhaust - nice looks and sounds... 1-3hp max
Get the handling to where you like it then go for the performance increases. What good is speed if you can't grab a turn?

Thanks for the replys. There is jus a lot to consider. But, I think I will start with handling first then go for speed.
So, I think I will take Fuzzy's advice and start with the intake.
Again, thanks for all the suggestions.

hey, just to further investigate the suspension thing...
Which would be better for ride comfort (I drive every-day, and commute to school an hour away, so i want a NICE comfortable ride, just like stock, and NOT bouncy)...
Tein SS coilovers
or
Comptech / H&R Sport Springs
&
Koni Yellows
(or whatever other combo would best suit my situation)???

thanks to everyone that replied to my message. i did not expect to many reponses. you all rock!
anyway, it seems that i first need to start with the intake and then build from there. i am looking for both speed and handeling. so, it will be a little bit at a time
oh, my car is is silver Metallic w/ bony int.
again thanks,
aaron
