Hello everyone. Just joined the forum today. Going today to look at a 2003 cl type s for the girlfriend. Looked like a good forum to get some info on the cars. After searching around it looks like the main issue is with the trnasmission. This used cl has 50,000 miles so i guess it would be a good idea to ask about a warranty.

Anyways just wanted to say hello.

Andrew

Get a 6 speed and you won't have that issue. Welcome aboard!

welcome aboard and good luck with your CL shopping. If she can drive a stick, I definitely recommend buying the 6-speed. If not, you're still covered for 50k more miles so you should be in decent shape.

The automatic CLS is one of the best chick cars out there. good luck.

although I sold my previous CLS 6 speed to a female driver, who only wanted a shifter.

Exclamation

Welcome to the forum!

Before you think that the tranny warranty is covered to 109k miles, you need to check the VIN. Not all '03's are covered under the warranty.

Here is a site that you can check the VIN to see if it is covered:

i called the local acura dealership anyway to double check on the transmission coverage and they said it is covered for 7 years and 9 months or 109,000 miles (obviously which ever comes first)
