Did you use the original grill and just cut off the middle piece that runs from side to side and fill in the gaps with bondo?
I was gonna do this when i first got my cl, have the bondo sitting in my garage, but got busy with work so never got around to it.

lookin good, get some day shots of the whole front...
you should seriously think about making a one piece cast of the grille and selling them, once the mold is made, they will be easy to produce and for 80-100 bucks, I'd buy one. find a local shop that would be willing to partner with you, and if that doesn't work, go to sema or contact bodykit manufacteres willing to make some dough on a group buy.

I'd buy one.
I was thinking about doing the same thing, but I got no time.

even if you guys do buy that piece, you still have to cut and weld the hood. Not brain surgery, but you could fuck up big time and ruin your hood. Hey, for 550 i'll head up there with my mig welder in my hand !!!!!!!

thanks, guys. I don't plan on making these, but I will see if I an find someone to possibly make a mold of it. I have to start my interior so there won't be time for me to do much of anything.

not exactly, on second thought, if you put a piece of preforated metal between the plastic grille housing that titland did and the metal brace than the mbrace would sit behind the mesh. you could then paint the brace black so it wouldn't show through the mesh... damn, i'ma about to make one myself and get a kit fabricating shop to duplicate about 20 or so of them so i could sell them.
