"new" fix for 2g cl owner fog lights
So ive been in and out of this forum for months, looking for a seemingly good fix to make the fog lights REAL fog lights and not "road lamps" so heres my way....
What I did was I found the factory housings brand new from online somewhere, I think they may have costed me somewhere around 40 each, and I had a bum set meaning they were already damaged (cracked) for testing purposes.
I woried up an aftermarket harness to my parks and to the factory button, the first thing I did was use regular 9005 bulbs in the bum set, I drilled out a hole big enough to seat the bulb and held it in place with some silicone. ... BAD IDEA. Turns out when silicone gets hot it can still melt and allow the bulb to move, I also didnt know that the wattage mattered, and I burned a hole at the top of my bum set of fogs.
Round 2... I took my new set and ordered some 50w leds from eBay for like 30 bucks, and drilled out the hole like last time, this time however I used hot glue, less resistant to temperature fluctuations and still strong enough to be outside in different weather conditions.
Man when I tell you its A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE, them things get just as bright as my stock h.i.d.s, unfortunately still they're just for the look the light pattern spreads wide so wide infact you cant see much if any light in front of the car, but in my opinion, it makes her look esthetically better,
So one project down, about 4 more to go
