new to CL's

hey guys, i just got a 01 CL type S a few months ago and i thought i would join the site to get some input. Im not new to working around cars, but i dont know anything about V6's. My last car was a 2000 prelude but i sold it for this.

What is a resonator, and where is it located on the exhaust.

I'm getting sick and tired of the oem sound of my car, what exhaust setup would u guys recommend?

welcome to acurazine. beware of noah lol

your refering to the exhaust resonator. Its the mid-muffler after the cat and before the Y split. Its pretty easy to spot when you look under the car.
a lot of people have magnaflow mufflers, but if you can afford it get a comptech axleback

Haha...you guys are

No need to "watch" out for me...these guys smoke a lot of stuff in their pantry.

If you need any help with anything...let me know and I'll try to help out in any way I can.

If you want some ideas for the SSM (aka Silver Satin Metallic) CL, I have one.

Feel free to check out my thread for any ideas.

There are lots of pictures on different pages taken in various stages of my CL's life.

Might give you a starting place.

Here is the link:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-photograph-gallery-53/cl-city-495479/

+1 on Comptech Axle-Back for now and then run a custom exhaust setup if you need to squeeze any more performance out of your ride.

Don't worry about the reasonators...I feel like it's kind of "ricey" mod IMO.

Just save some money and get an exhaust.

But I think there is one by the intake you can reach for and take out.

That should tweak your sound a bit.

Welcome muha22752

CL-S6 is short for CL Type S 6 speed manual. CL-P is CL Premium. The chassis code is YA4.

It seems that most people who have CLs used to own Preludes.

I have Tien SS-P's and I'll just let you know that Tien Basics go lower on these CL's.

Although I don't make any adjustments, I like to have the ability to.

CL comes in two trims: Look in the CL FAQ's for the differences between the two.

* CL Type P or Premium
* CL Type S or Sport

Two transmissions:

* 6MT or 6 speed manual transmisson
* 5AT or 5 speed automatic transmission

All of the body parts between the TL and CL are different.

Even the rear doors.

See Anthracite ^^^^^

No, they are not exchangeable.

Good place to buy Acura parts is from one of our Acurazine vendors, WholesalePartsGuy aka Hansel Prestige Acura

WholesalePartsGuy

https://acurazine.com/forums/members/wholesalepartsguy-265345/

Hansel Prestige Acura

http://www.prestigeacura.com/index.htm

They have discounts for Acurazine members and I've had a great experience buying Acura parts through them.

Easy to just give them a call and see what kind of deal they can work out for you.
