NEW CL Billet Grille

Check this out!

I ran across this ad when I was searching for a grille on my CL.

NEW Billet Grilles for our 2nd Gen's!!!

http://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/wan/755907968.html

I contacted the manufacturer to find out what's the deal.

At his shop he already manufacturs a grille set for the 1st Gen CL and now a couple of people have requested a set for our 2nd Gen's.

He wants to add our model to his production.

It would come with an upper and lower grille in billet.

For the 1st person to get the work done....ONLY $150....65% off the price of a custom grille job!!! NO ONE ELSE MAKES THEM!

I would totally jump on this if I was local to the Tampa Bay area....I'm not.

So...I am asking if someone living in the Tampa area would like to get the grille work done so he can make the mold to offer it to everyone.

I spoke directly with the owner and he said he would cut us a 10% group buy discount if I could gather up atleast 5 people.

Original price = $179.95 for brushed + shipping. Polishing an additional $25.

Group discount = 10% off each grille. 5 people minumum.

BUT.............

I need someone to contact the manufacturer on the link to get the grille work done on their CL first to make this a reality!

Anyone down???

Here are some pic's of what I am talking about.

Well I am not sure either.

If you look at the pictures of grille set above from the 1st Gen CL...I don't think it looks bad at all.

I thought it would be nice to have something different instead of everybody with the same "mesh" style.

Another option...

I am trying to get the manufacturer to offer a mesh option but he said that they personally do not manufacture the mesh style at his company but that they partner with another company who will do it.

Problem then...I have to get someone to go to there shop to get the work done.

I already spoke with the owner and he is definetely interested in producing this grille set for us.

I know everybody isn't going to be into it, but hey who knows.

If it was painted black or body color that would look a ton better.

I agree 100%.

It will look great on the CL if done properly and not for everybody.

I would be interested in getting this grill if it was available in Gunmetal or Black. I probable wouldn't pull the trigger in the chrome or brushed metal. Not much my style. Just to much bling.

Well...they make it already for the 1st Generation so this would just be different measurements.

I like the various Photoshop chops.

Thanks for that...

It's different.

Originally when I approached the owner I thought it would be optional with mesh or billet.

I really don't think it looks that bad...again it's different.

I think it could painted or used in different ways besides leaving it plain billet but I think it's cool that they are willing to produce it for our CL's...another option since there are really none.

I see a lot of people trying to make these mesh grilles and everybody has more or less the same style.

Okay...

Here are some more examples....

People really hate these?

I know there are people who would really like these.

Already 7 people have come forward to get one but they live outside of Tampa.

I got some more pics.

I think they would be sold as a grille set or individually.

Maybe some just want the lower grille...

I am not a fan of the vents either.

It is growing on me.

While driving around I have been more aware of the billet since I posted the thread and it works on some and doesn't on others.

Looks great on a G35, 1st Gen CL and other cars in the class so I don't think it is as bad as some other members are making it out to be.

I want to see what one looks like color matched or painted black.

This look screams "lifted SuperDuty/Z71, come drink beer on the farm" to me. No way for luxury cars.

That's pretty funny.

I think because they are predominetly made for those vehicles we automatically think that but there are a lot of import luxury vehicles that sport these.

Believe it or not.
