New AEM INTAKE + FULL TANK OF GAS..
Damn this changed my car so much. I LOVE THIS SHIT!
I just filled up, I wonder how long I can use this gas tank for? One night? See you guys later, I am spending the night at the redline..
If you don't have an intake, get off your ass and get one, this thing is so sweet!

It sounds deep and has an awesome growl. Doesn't Sound puny at all anymore.. And when it hits VTEC, oh baby you can feel it.
About performance, all I know is that I left about 3 secs of rubber going into 2nd. Definately feel it..
Auto 540, from a stop probably.
I paid 215 or whatever from www.autocarparts.com.

I know exactly how you feel. I had my blue AEM CAI w/bypass valve installed a few days ago and it made such a difference. My car seems faster than before, especially after VTEC kicks in. And I just love that sound.

I just heard from my mechanic a first hand account of a guy who got his broken bypass vale stuck in his throttle body of his GSR. This caused the car to rev uncontrollably and damn near cost him his ass.
And, since I don't regularly drive through flooded roads, and since AEM tries to charge 49.99 for the total piece of shit plastic piece, I think I will do without.
Thus far I have driven through the worst rain Maryland has to offer on a number of occasions and no problems at all.

About the Bypass, BUY it! I called AEM about a split in the filter and a week later I had a Brand new Valve, no questions asked. This is one of the rare companies that earn every penny. It may just be a "cheap" plastic peice but it is not massed produced and took many hours to research and design not to mention building the tooling to produce it.

Running at the same spot and the same launch I was able to drop the times between 0.15 and 0.20 which seems about right considering the power increase.

I'm a stickler for detail and the only dyno I've seen of what a CAI can produce is after you all have installed Comptech headers! So those headers really helped breathing of engine by 28hp. or so. Now a CAI is placed and nets 10hp after a header was placed! I've seen dynos on several Integra GSR'S and with just a CAI netted over 10hp. on a dyno! Well,I think with our 260hp. engines getting rid of that bottled up intake would give us at least 10 or more hp! Don't want any flames started here but someone is not using
very scientific reasoning with claims about
how much hp. a CAI can produce! The improvements to 1/4 and 0-60 times seems to be reasonable compared to anyone else's times
on this forum! Anyway, Peace!

Is this the type of mod that can be added without impacting your warranty? I am assuming that since some many of you have put in an AEM CAI, that it's ont a big deal warranty wise.
I will be leasing my CL-S, and I am just curious to know if this is something I could put in that wouldn't cause me warranty issues if I had to go in for service. Plus it's inexpensive enough not to be a big deal to take out when turning in my car.
Thanks-
PNC

Ruvz it took one week to get here, but the duty was expensive 75.00.
The dealers can't say a thing, unless they can prove that it was the intake that damaged the car(eg. car submerged and takes water through the intake..)
And I am getting really good mileage on this tank, I fulled up right after I installed it. And even after my crazy driving, it still is better than without.
How did I go so long without this .

I have dyno'd, about a year ago, a CL-S with just an with and without a CAI. Three runs were made with the stock system and three with a CAI. I don't know how that does not define a somewhat scientific study??
Yes, there was a peak gain of about 11 HP. The gain at peak HP was about 5 HP and then an average of about 4 - 5 HP. I was quite pleased with that.
Now why do I state that 6 tenths gain in 0 - 60 from just a CAI is stretching it?? There are many equations to use to determine the approximate HP required giving the types of increases mentioned. An in this case on a 3500+ lb vehicle, it would take 30 - 40 HP to achieve the numbers with all other things equal.
I have swapped intakes and dyno'd many vehicles of my own (5 different one's) and helped on others. I have yet to see gains of this type from just a CAI. Also, the CL-S was designed with a lower restriction intake from the factory. Although it may not be the best, there is not 30+ HP to be gained from it alone.
Just IMO...
