New Acura Owner

Hello,

I've been reading this forum for a couple of weeks.

I'll be picking up my Acura this upcoming Monday. I got a red on black 2001 CL type S with navigation.

There's a lot of good and useful information on this forum, especially about the transmission. After reading the transmission forum, I was kind of hesitant to buy this car, but not anymore. After I read about the recall, I called the Acura 1-800 number. If some of you haven't done so already, I'd do it ASAP. She asked for my vin number and some other personal information. After she looked up my vin number, she told me that my car qualifies for the recall, and that they will be sending out letters to everyone who's registered with them.

She also said that if the transmission doesn't look to bad, they wil just install an oil pump just for the second gear.

Anyway, hopefully I'll learn a lot more from you guys. The first thing that I'll do is lower the car. Where can I get the best prices for the best springs? I'm kind of new at this, some people say springs, some people talk about camber kits. What exactly do I need? I want it to look lower, but keep the handling. What do I need?

Thanks to everyone who post all the usefull information.

welcome. i would hate to see anyone driving a CLS in the winter snow, esp in IL. Just thinking about what my past cars looked like after all that snow and salt gives me the chills. You shouldn't have probs driving in the winter w/ a drop.
