Looks like as of Sept 1, 2005, Acura has changed their extended warranty policy.
Instead of the previous policies that would be determined by your car purchase date, the policies are now by policy purchase date.
Maximum policy is 4 yr/48,000 mile (additional 48k added to current mileage)with $100 deductible. So long as you're within the original 4 year/50k warranty, anybody can purchase it.
So basically, the best time to purchase is the last week of your original warranty. Since the 48k is added to whatever you mileage is at the time of purchase.
Just an odd thought, but it doesn't seem to be in Acura's best interest to do it this way. I mean there's no incentive to buy the policy right now. I'd basically just wait until 2 weeks before my original policy is up to maximize the mileage. I thought the idea was to try to hook up people ASAP.
Also, love the policy being from the policy purchase date, but hate the $100 deductible instead of the previous $0 deductible. The $100 deductible doesn't the extended warranty as attractive anymore.
Anyways, I got a couple more months to think about buying the extended warranty. I was gonna get it, but now I'm not so sure. Feel free to chime in.

And then they E-Mailed me a 95-dollar coupon.
PS.... I don't need this.
I already have a 7-YR 75,000 mile 0-deductable plan from them that I bought a while back.

My credit union has an extended plan that has been very popular with people I work with. It runs about $1450 and is for 7 years, 135,000 miles if I remember correctly. You do not have to buy it when the car is new, you have up to 35,000 miles to think about it. The people that I know that have used it say you never even see the bill. It is pretty much bumper to bumper, with the exclusion of audio componants and things like tires and wiper blades.
